Just Play Warframe (I have about 400 or so hours in the standard launcher of Duet Night Abyss)

Let's go over some of the issues.

-The game basically copied 90% of Warframe but worse. (Helix Jump = Bullet Jumping) There is no momentum. Traversal is horrible if you don't have a specific Polearm wedge called Piercing Ascent.

-Weapons are currently stat-sticks and deal no damage, you need a dedicated character (Either Fina or Outsider) for weapons to be usable. (Yeah Usable, not even good) There's guns that deal 6% damage per shot while a level 1 Rhythm (Basically this games Volt) does like 450% damage with an ability.

-Character balance is horrible with only like 4-6 characters actually being worth using.

-Characters have elements attached to them, so you can't mod elements on weapons like you can in Warframe, you deal 50% less damage for elements you aren't effective against and 400% (x4) damage against Elements you do have an advantage against. It's basically pokemon but worse. Yup, you guess it right, there's no Elemental combination, each and every element does minor DoT damage, only Lumino and Umbro has unique effect. (Lumino refreshes DoTs and Umbro slows stance recovery, they both still do DoT as well.)

- The Demon Wedge (Mods in Warframe terms) farming is pure cheeks, you have a pool of drops you can get but it isn't RNG and it'll always drop in a rotation. Yeah, you have to do dedicated missions to get the wedges and it's an end of mission reward. You CANNOT farm wedges outside of these modes, and for some unknown reason if you're farming a wedge and it's a defense missions, you don't even get the defense mission rewards you would usually get from doing a standard defense missions. (Luno Mementos)
You need 50 purple demon wedges to craft a fully upgraded +10 gold wedge. 5 normal purple wedges can be used to craft a gold wedge and you'll need another gold wedge to upgrade it to +6, 2 for +7, another 2 to get +8, then 2 more for +9 and 3 for +10. Crazy grind, there's a paid item that let's you subsitiute 1 gold wedge in the in-game shop. I'll talk about in a few.

-Demon Wedges is horrible with 90% of them being either useless or just adding stat-boost. There's no variety, all of you weapon builds are going to be the same exact thing.

-No Build variety, characters only have 2 abilities for some reason and you pretty much only deal damage with your abilities.

-The Endgame mode (Immersive Theater) Is basically and elemental shill mode, you can deal anywhere from x4/x8 additional damage if your element match. Don't even attempt to use an off element, you'll have a horrible time. The modifiers on some of these Theater rotations is sometimes on a whole other level of wickedness.

-The events are either whatever or bad.

-The In-Game Shop/Microtransactions ARE HORRIBLE, don't even get me started on the character skin gacha, cosmetics cost between 6-12 dollars, they sell character dyes instead of color palettes, so if you use a blue dye and you run out of it, you have to buy more.
  • Bulleted list There's a monthly 5 dollar pass that gives you Phoxene everyday (90) while there is another currency called Phoxene Plumule. Basically Phoxene can only be used in a in-game shop called phoxene Exchange that has very limited stuff in it, while Phoxene Plumule can be used to buy cosmetics and everything the normal Phoxene can buy. I have no clue why there are 2 different currencies.
  • Bulleted list There's an item called Amplification Stimulator that cost 26$ and it basically let's you skip some of the grind, it's a crazy price. That's not even a microtransaction anymore. It's a MEGAtransaction. It should cost either 3 or 5$ AT MOST.
-The Community has been complaining about Weapon/Character balance since like a week or 2 after the game launched. (Octobet 28th, 2025) and it's been radio silence, the devs are treating the update cycle like a normal gacha game instead of a looter shooter. They do ask for feedback on reddit and discord, but so far, nothing has come of it.

Here's the good stuff about DNA (Duet Night Abyss)

-The Music in this game goes PLUS ULTRA

-The Story/Lore of the game is PHENOMENAL

That's pretty much where the positives end, I can't currently in good faith recommend Duet Night Abyss. If you do decide to play, just do it casually.
Even though this game has dropped gacha, it's still very gacha coded.

Why the hell is content time-gated? Why does the game make you open up the in-game shop during the tutorial?

Why is there 200 different currencies?

Why?

Nah, we really need to talk about this, why the ♥♥♥♥ is Epic popping up when I launch the game? Also why can't I get the free Comic skins? I heard it was only available for like 5 minutes during release. What's sup with that? I hate this region DLC ♥♥♥♥ man. (Also ♥♥♥♥ Epic.)

I had a blast playing this, Clea is an Anime-stealth horror game. You need to listen out for enemies(They're called Chaos Servants and your other self is the War Maiden) footsteps and sound queues and hide or run (Running 90% of the time doesn't work because everything is on steroids to the 12th degree (As far as speed goes). Each enemy mechanics is a tad bit different so the gameplay doesn't get to repetitive (Though when you're up against Clea's mom and little brother it can get Tedious.) The art-style is 10 out of 10. Also saves are limited (You need an item called Arcane Mana, or was it Arcane Crystal?) To save the game. Also you can use the item to repel enemies in 1 room until you move to another room then it wears off. You run through the mansion finding keys, clues and potions (Not to sure what the potions are used for, didn't bother with them) The help you escape the mansion.

Going to give a short overview of the story. The game is about a family who's daughter (You the main character named Clea) is harboring an evil chaos entity called the Chaos Maiden. The Chaos servants are trying to kill Clea to claim the Maidens power for themselves. Her parents captured some of the servants and began experiment on them so they can find a way to cure Clea (Spoiler that ends badly for the family). After the parents ran out of servants to experiment on they started using the mother as a scapegoat, she slowly started to lose her sanity.

The game also supports mods. There is little to no ost, so there is that. If this was too long there is a review copy pasta at the bottom. The developer is also very open to the community, I hope he makes an after story for the secret ending.
