The patterns are getting clearer. Street cameras turn toward me as I walk. My emails arrive before I send them. Last night, I heard my own voice in a call I never made.

I stopped using my real name at coffee shops. Changed my route to work three times this week. Still, the same car always finds me at the last stoplight. I cut the power to my apartment, but the TV turned on anyway—static, then my own reflection, a half-second out of sync.

They aren’t just watching anymore. They’re waiting.
