Early Access Review
The "Together" update turned a great game into a masterpiece.

After the 2026 updates, No Rest for the Wicked has finally hit its stride. The world is a visual 9/10—it feels like walking through a living, visceral painting. While I’ll be the first to admit the "Popeye-esque" character proportions are a bit of an acquired taste (and still look a bit wonky to me), the environment more than makes up for it.

Combat & Performance:
The combat is incredibly solid and weighty. Pro-tip: Use a controller. M&K works, but the precision needed for this movement feels much more fluid on a gamepad. On a high-end PC, the optimization is now stellar—running at a locked 240 FPS with zero hiccups, which is a massive leap from the Early Access launch days.

The Co-op Experience:
This is the real game-changer. The new co-op system is persistent, meaning the world stays alive even if the host is offline (similar to Grounded). It adds a whole new dynamic to the "life-sim" grind. Speaking of the grind, it's perfectly paced. Rebuilding Sacrament and gathering resources feels stable and rewarding without ever crossing into "monotonous" territory.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a "Souls-lite" with a world you can actually live in with friends.

Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream - A Frustrating Disappointment
As a fan of Sword Art Online, I was drawn to Fractured Daydream by the promise of 20 party raids and an engaging RPG experience. Unfortunately, the game failed to deliver in several critical areas.

Pros:
  • Mechanics: While it's probably one of the better SAO titles on the market, that's not really saying much.
  • Earnable Cosmetics: Some cosmetics can be earned, but at an extremely low drop rate, or through story quests by defeating a random named monster.

Cons:
  • Unpolished Gameplay: The gameplay isn’t buggy but is far from polished, feeling more like an unfinished beta.
  • Poor Storyline: Shallow and not engaging for those unfamiliar with the previous titles or anime/novels.
  • Stamina System: The stamina system for flight feels more like a penalty than a fun experience.
  • Repetitive Quests: Most quests are tedious and repetitive, offering little variety or challenge.
  • Microtransactions: Mostly cosmetic skins that aren’t heavily pushed, but still a factor.
  • Performance Issues: Even on high-end systems, the game struggles with performance issues and long load times.

Overall: Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream fails to live up to its potential. The grind to reward ratio is astronomically low, making it a frustrating experience. I would recommend picking up Granblue Fantasy: Relink if you’re seeking a fun action RPG co-op or single-player experience. Save your money and your time—this game isn’t worth it.
