Cronos: The New Dawn has been compared to many games. I think there's a lot of similarities you can point to at face value to Dead Space, but I believe this game does a great job of creating its own identity. Yes, both protagonists have a "faceless" person in a space suit (Futuristic Diving Suit in this one) and you're fighting enemies that have been mutated/morphed from human beings, but that's really the only similarities. The gunplay is also similar in the sense that its a third person shooter, but this game does not rely on dismemberment, but accuracy.

The games biggest fault is that the story is a slow burn and the combat is very slow/methodical. I wasn't really sure if the enemy variety and gameplay loop would be rewarding enough for me to continue, but what kept me going was the mystery around what the game was about, the dialogue, and the constant feeling that the scale that everything was occurring at was dimensionally bigger than myself. After about 2 hours the enemy variety and the story explaining the things you're seeing yield to really flushed out world. I felt that I had a responsibility to resolve the crisis presented in front of me, understand as much as I could, and pursue whatever objective that was bestowed upon me.

I ended up really enjoying how methodical the movements and combat was because that's how the character behaves in game. The dialogue is bizarre and almost musical, the way the protagonist engages with the world is just interesting all the way through. I think this is a great game and deserves to be played.
