Greed (or avarice) is an insatiable desire for material gain (be it food, money, land, or animate/inanimate possessions) or social value, such as status, or power.

Sure, the game is gruelling, intense, scary and atmospheric, all as intended- but less so than its original counterpart. Silent Hill 2 has aged perfectly. It doesn't need a remake: it needs a port. The changes made here feel entirely misguided, and the lack of change feels conversely like a lack of vision or will to do anything different, lest they invoke the fans' ire. But this is really a problem with all remakes, isn't it?

Why remake something great, when you can remake something with missed potential and better realize it?

Well, that doesn't sell as well then repackaging and regurgitating something people already know and is proven to work.
