Great so far, hopefully Gearbox can optimise a bit so those suffering performance issues can play, no issues achieving 90fps on 5k2k res with 5090 and i9 14900k

Really pretty game with witty humour, I tried to write this review while avoiding references to Runescape, but the resemblance in feel, humour and look is undeniable.

Tonnes to explore and new story around every corner, the quests are great, I'd say the only downside are the hefty requirements, probably need a fair few more lower level quests to fill the gaps. The grind is smartly done, rather than make 100+ different options for gathering, the spots instead change quality with the relevant levels.

One of the things I love is the openness, you can train whatever you want to train, and if you don't have a lot of time, there are offline options known as "passive training" which means that you're progressing even if you don't have the time to dedicate to grinding out some skills, yes, it is slow, but it's better than nothing.

The devs have already done a good job responding to feedback and implementing heavily requested features, I'd say Brighter Shores is unequivocally a gem that only needs polish and more cooperative content to make it one of the greats.

Abiotic Factor emerges as a gem in the indie game landscape, blending the survival horror and intense strategic gameplay reminiscent of classics like Project Zomboid, Half-Life, and 7 Days to Die. It's evident from the first playthrough that this game was crafted with immense passion and attention to detail, engaging players in a world that's both challenging and richly immersive.

The game sets itself apart with its unique blend of survival mechanics and narrative depth. The environments are meticulously designed, fostering a sense of urgency and dread akin to Half-Life, the story borrowing from The SCP Foundation, the survival elements feel very much like 7 Days to Die, demanding thoughtful resource management and crafting, while the character stats, reminiscent of Project Zomboid, are executed with a finesse that keeps you on the edge of your seat, making every nightfall a thrilling fight for survival.

Abiotic Factor is more than just a game; it's a compelling experience that has reignited my love for late-night gaming sessions. The developers have truly outdone themselves, creating a game that not only challenges your skills but also keeps you coming back for more with its intriguing storyline and dynamic gameplay. It's a must-play for anyone who cherishes deeply engaging and meticulously crafted gaming experiences.

All of this coupled with the co-op option truly enhances the game, making it even more enjoyable. Playing with friends adds a layer of strategy and cooperation, as you work together to survive, build defences, and defeat enemies. It’s a great way to connect and share the thrill of the game, making each session feel like a team victory. Whether you’re playing with old friends or new ones, the multiplayer experience is engaging and adds significant replay value.

Update:

Even 6 months later, I find myself coming back to find new content and explore more areas of the facility, Abiotic factor is easly the HL2 of the 2020s and I hope it continues to grow.

Fun and sometimes challenging game, multiplayer works well, and although there are some nice QoL features I'd like to see, I've had a lot of fun so far and will be coming back for more.

Hopefully there'll be some smoothing out of the survival elements, especially the NPC hires. Otherwise, really enjoyable chill game.

Pretty amazing little gem here, I'm not usually a massive fan of Horror games de to most of them relying on cheap jump scares, but there's a certain charm to this game that keeps me coming back.

You have to play this with friends to get the full experience.

Wow, just wow, played the demo super early on and was impressed, but hoped for more content, played the latest demo for Steam Next Fest, and enjoyed it a lot, bought it on release and was just amazed at the amount of content and polish of an early access title. Has serious Terraria vibes with boss progression, npc housing and some obvious inspiration is drawn from Terraria, Minecraft and similar titles, all in all, a great game, great price point and huge potential, looking forward to the future with this one.

Great puzzle game that is every bit as satisfying as it is fun, there's a good mix of humour, challenge, exploration, and story.

Regarding the news of the Acquisition.

Well that news came as a bit of a shock to me, who, an avid viewer of BigFryTV and Sidalpha know all about the exploits of Earth 2 and how not only shady, but outright scummy they are.

More information can be found in the following videos:
(SidAlpha's latest) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWPq9yeyCDE
(BigFryTV's latest) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4beOLXhWZ8

If you don't have the time to watch the videos, let me sum it up for you, Earth 2 is a scam, through and through, Shane Isaac is a con artist, this single handedly throws DRONE The Game into "shady and definitely scummy" territory, I'd advise you request a refund of this immediately and definitely do not purchase DRONE ever again, what a shame, as it really was a fun, and quirky game.

Really good for being a f2p title, still feels like Halo with modern improvements like sprinting and clambering, only real cons I can think of is the money hungry battle pass and EXP system, detracting from gameplay because nobody is incentivized to play for OBJ, but only to get their battlepass challenges, this creates longer games and usually one team steamrolling the other especially in Big Team Battle, couple this with the fact that there's no free for all playlist, and you have a frustrating time trying to co-ordinate your team for a win. Still worth a play, especially if you've got a few friends to join you, and it's still a great Halo experience.
