shotta22 has a game ban. What Killah MIGHT have been able to help, if Valve would have listened to him about making Steam better, is the misleading in game messages for bans in Valve games. They should not have any reference to "VAC" in the messages, when the ban is a game ban, IMO. It's one of the biggest areas of confusion with different types of bans, that we see daily in the forums where users have game bans instead.

He was never able to do anything about VAC bans.

Please help me reconsider the Vac Ban situation, you are my last hope.

Look, even I was a mod, I wouldn't even tell you Lain, at most hit your friend up with a PM or clarify the ban.

That said, normally I think 99 out of 100 people asking to look into a ban where genuinely confused* or withholding information, but the ban was legit.

With the outsourcing of Support I am not that sure and the number definitely crept up over the years.

*like when you have a very offensive name, you might be reset and lose your name history, and it might look like it was for nothing- heck, someone might not even remember setting it (a drunk night of gaming) or not realize that it was offensive (world is a big place, nobody knows the entirety history of the earth and all intracies culturally speaking). It's why I dont like how systems are set up and would always clarify or follow up. But that's in the past.

Your friend should contact support. That is what he can do.
If they can't or won't help, your friend is on his own.

Having tried Steam Support a number of times, only to get each of his tickets closed immediately with their typical copy-paste replies, he decided to contact one of the oldest steam moderator names he recognized to see if KillahInstinct could verify the information or at least give an explanation as to why one of his peers would invent such discrepancies about him.

My guess is that Steam Moderators can view the written text on someone's profile even though it's being forced private.

You do realize that since my friend can't comment himself or add KillahInstinct he's asked me to be a medium to attempt to get through to him by having me copy-paste each of his own responses in third person.

He figured that me leaving a comment here and adding him would be enough to get in contact with him and elucidate things. Neither of us realized there would be this much gate-keeping and second-guessing by his fanboys before word could get through.

He's literally shared 5 screenshots with you of the ban, as well as his profile history for you to see that his claims of being falsely banned are very true.

You don’t usually get those bans unless you did something seriously wrong. Are you sure your friend didn’t do something he hasn’t told you?

Seems that is something for your friend and Support to deal with.

Moderator, now Steam moderator. I'm gonna guess your friend isn't up to par with his explanation or he's being tricked by the average impersonator.

He's aware steam moderators don't have access to in-game chat. He knows this and yet he was banned by a steam moderator (he doesn't know who), following reports for something he said in-game. Since this steam moderator this specific steam moderator has a hard-on for him but no proof - they've invented these false claims of offensive stuff on his profile that would be the basis for his current community ban.

My friend has already appealed to support but they've given him a response that doesn't make sense and immediately closed the ticket since they won't bother with previous offenders. He believes he's been mass reported in-game for something he said and a biased moderator applied the ban. He's currently banned for 1 year and the official charges for the bans are made-up, claiming his name, profile picture, name history, profile "links" (his trade offer link) and custom info text are the reason why he got banned. He just wants some clarification on these obvious lies, since any 3rd party website that tracks Steam user data can prove otherwise.

You're also not really up to speed on, or ignoring the fact that killah stepped down, got asked to pick up the mantle again, and after that the volunteers were discontinued. So yeah, that speaks volumes. Just like your poor attempts at baiting speaks volumes.

People who were frequently banned back in the day roam free now and harass me alone others on the Daily, calling those they disagree with a cheater or a Valve shill because people suggest that not everybody they accuse of cheating i cs2 is actually a cheater, i’ve been there myself where I blamed every loss on a cheater so i think im right to say i know what im talking about. They roam free and reinforce their echo chamber and are free to spread their conspiracy theories and harass users because of the inactvity from the new moderation. Hell there’s been ai driven rage bait bots in the cs2 hub since spring this year and nothing was done towards them before they claimed to be moderators themselves. To sum up the experince I have had I can only call it frustrating. I miss being to able to actually communicate with an individual moderator instead of the copy paste prompts that support provide
