Very good

Very fun action packed game. Controls feel pretty good and the soundtrack is a banger.

Very fun simulator that is based on a fictional company but aims for operational realism. Great if you like Japanese rail.

Probably my favorite game in VR. A lot of fun, has workshop support, and has other mods available that aren't on the workshop including multiplayer.

I originally reviewed this game back in 2021 when it first launched on Steam as I had preordered it. The game was a ton of fun and really felt like a spiritual successor to SWAT 4, another game I absolutely love.

Several years and many hours of game play later I sadly need to update this review to be negative. This new update has been a complete disaster for this game, and not because of the censorship added because of the console release. Although I disagree with the censorship because it means VOID backtracked on their stance of "never backing down" when it comes to showing the harsh realities of policing and SWAT, the changes added as a result didn't really impact me so I only have an issue with them on principle.

Although I like the new maps that were added, the rest of the update is not great. Achievements are broken, graphics feel downgraded, it is buggier then ever (I have never had the game crash before this update, and after the update I have had at least 5 crashes so far), and some of the game's core issues that it has always had regarding friendly and enemy AI have still not been addressed.

I hope to some day change this review back to a positive one, but VOID has quite a few changes to make before that can happen.

Fun

I started playing this and expected a relatively simple game about splicing together news clips. After I did a play thorough of it I was very surprised how in depth and impressive the game is. I really liked being able to go back after and watch some of the footage from a feed that wasn't aired and hearing a different take, or hearing something that could change your opinion of how something initially presented itself. Can't wait for the remaining content to come out.

Caved to pressure from people who probably never even played the game. When they did they took something out that, although dark, really solidified the dark undertone of the game and was a key piece to the story. Initially they gave people the option to disable the parts, but letting adults and paying customers chose what they want is no longer in style, so they just cut pieces of the story out entirely so nobody can play it. Don't encourage this behavior. Don't give them a penny.

The most fun I've had in any kind of train game or simulator. Having a whole career system instead of just independent jobs and VR support is great.

Really cool experience with fun puzzles and a cool atmosphere to it. Strongly recommend.
