Early Access Review
Fun and interesting emergent survival/building gameplay in infinite worlds of at times strikingly beautiful nature draped in "retro" aesthetics akin to 1995-2001 era of gaming with modern twists.

Engaging co-op in unforgiving (if unprepared or engaging without caution) combat.
Interesting but decidedly limited building (but that's okay).
Rather large amounts of time spent on tedium (e.g. mining in a far away spot, spending large amounts of time hauling the resources back to your base for refinement and crafting) that is lifted up by your efforts being rewarded in further progression of equipment/building/skills.

Dying matters, and putting in the effort to get the resources you need are rewarding.
So far, the "story" aspect of the game is a little lacking, but that's okay as well.
Hopefully it will be expanded upon at least a bit more.

The game has tremendous potential that will hopefully be realized in the coming year(s) and place it at the level of giants like Minecraft, Terraria and so on.
It is already close.

Feels like the most cohesive of the two new installments in the franchise.
The actual story of the game is pretty dumb (and sort of goes nowhere) and short, but the core of the game (both, in fact) is its replayability.

Whether it's escalations, contracts, chasing challenges or completing mission stories - as long as you enjoy the core gameplay of what Hitman is, I find it likely you'll enjoy the game.

Don't go in expecting Absolution or Blood Money-esque "depth" (sic) story. Expect playing the missions over and over to learn routes and reveal potential strategies as you go on a mad tear to unlock equipment, weapons and advantages.

The expansion pass is well worth the money (if you can get it cheap off of some CD key site - incredibly overpriced for what you get if you pay the Steam price), and even though it doesn't really provide any insight into the at this point meandering story, it does get you two of the coolest looking locations in the franchise.
