So, I bought this game before it released because I've been trying to finish the game for years, but between a broken PS3, lack of free time, my son basically having a monopoly on the PS4, I bought this as my third and final attempt.

The launch sucked. Much worse for many people, but I suffered through more than one 110 minute shader cache compile, and my only bugs were crashing related and only twice, so I got off easy. I also have really good hardware (5800X3D/6900XT) so my performance was not great, but solid enough and very playable.

At launch I would not have recommended the game, but seeing other reviews I would now recommend it. The game is excellent across the board in terms of the experience, with my only complaint being it's still poorly optimized for the PC, but not criminally so. It's passable from a technical standpoint after the patches and fixes. As such, the story, gameplay, and options throughout the game are stellar. Here's hoping the sequel lands better than this did.
