I mean... I don't think I need to say anything more.

Can be pretty fun with a friend(s) but that's true for most games. Unfortunately, the game released out of early access without a mage class which is what I was really waiting for. So unsure if I'll put anymore time in since it seems the devs are just working post launch on things that will make them more money. Like adding it to more platforms instead of working on previously promised features. They are not currently working on new classes and doesn't sound like they will be free even if they make them in the future. With that in mind, I can't really support devs who pull that kind of thing.

As far as the game itself, it's ok. Hard pressed to find a better vr coop dungeon delver atm (not saying much tho since only like 3-4 exist). Too many spiders that jump at your face for my tastes.

The 2 classes that there are, archer and warrior, are basically the exact same as far as game play goes. Archer has a bow you pull back and 2 daggers for melee. Warrior has crossbow and sword/shield for melee. The weapons are not really that different from each other and how you play will be basically the same exact with both classes. Weirdly, the crossbow is better than the bow for ranged because you can crank it. My arms would get so tired trying to fling arrows as an archer (not to mention the aim system being terrible due to have to pull the bow string to your headset which is clunky af) that I would just say F it and just use melee most of the time. This resulted in my friend and I doing what we didn't expect when we picked classes. Me as an archer spent more time in melee and him as a warrior was ranged more often than not.

Overall, game could have been really good and worth my time but the 2 classes in the game are bland and the mage class (which is an archetype I prefer in rpgs) was cancelled which makes it very unlikely I'll ever play again.

*After being literally harassed by what seems to be emotionally stunted rabid fans of the game I have to disallow comments to this review. Who knew people could be so upset over a negative review that they result to cursing and name calling in comments on steam xD. The devs also doing exactly what I have seen them do, getting aggressively offended by any negative feedback of their game. I'm not surprised they have fostered such a grotesque community. Regardless, I won't be bullied into taking the review down so it will stay up.*

The current game mode that's out has been a lot of fun as a survivor. Even more so with friends. A lot of hiding and a lot of high moments that really stress you out as you're being hunted (which is good in a horror game... come on people). I know a lot of people are gonna compare the game to DBD which makes sense since they are in the same genre but I prefer it greatly to DBD. Obviously, this is just opinion but I never really found DBD engaging and it just felt like a grind and the skill check system always bothered me and felt bland. HoD feels far more intuitive and the matches never feel grindy. I much prefer the number input "skill check" system to activate extractors over DBD's weird "get lucky with a button press timing" since that never really felt like a skill. Also the character customization in HoD feels far more impactful in how you play a match over DBD's weird and sometimes arbitrary perk system.

And I haven't even started playing a Killer yet!

The current game mode is definitely a satisfying experience and the future plans and game modes the devs want to impliment sound like they could be even better so I definitely recommend picking the game up!

Long story short, I tried the game despite better judgement. Picked Cabalist since it was described as a healer AND dps. Over an hour later I'm still auto attacking mobs because I only have ONE ability and it's a heal. Which combat is so boring that I not once even needed that heal. I made a comment about this in a game discussion thread and also mentioned how I noticed the dev/owner of the game seemed very unprofessional in his responses to people.... boom perma banned xD Thankfully I didn't have to spend money to see how bad the game and the dev was but that is time I wish I could get refunded :( Also the moderators and dev all say that all problems are solved if you buy the $20 expansion. Since that's where all the fun and exciting stuff is... yeah ok >_>

I highly suggest you get this game especially if you have friends to fill out a crew with. Tons of guns to fire and wrenchs to swing!

If you don't own this... you should. A brilliant combo of first person shooter with tower defense. Amazing graphics and art style with 4-player co-op = one of the best purchases ever!
