Early Access Review
The game grabs you quick, and keeps delivering as they add new features and biomes. The grind is real, but the bonuses are worth it!

I don't have a ton of time to play games anymore -- but Dave the Diver scratches the gaming itch.

It has moments of challenge, but the overall vibe of the game is quite relaxed. There's a sim feature, but most of the game is spent exploring the ocean.

Worth the price, which most games nowadays can't claim.

Good, mindless fun. It's addictive because of the progress, fun because of the carnage, and challenging because you need to plan.

A great game to waste an hour with and wonder where the last 2 have gone.

I bought this game during the Christmas sale solely off of the awesomeness that was Max Payne 1 and 2. Do not buy this game. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

1) Max Payne 1 and 2 were deeply about the human condition. A man pushed to his limits with nothing to lose except his life -- and he'd given up on that. In the end, he finds some semblance of justice, but it leaves you feeling empty (yet fulfilled from a gaming perspective.

MP3 throws all this out the window. You're lost in the world alright, protecting people you don't care about for money that doesn't matter. The twists and turns are all there, but the heart has been ripped right out of the franchise.

2) MP1&2 were a pleasure to play. I remember loving 1 more than 2, but that was enough to get me to play the following two games. You were a force to be reckoned with. The game was brutual, but fair to the way you played.

Max Payne 3 is just brutual. You will die from people you can't see. You will die before you have a chance to react. You will shoot a guy 35 times, but unless you hit him multiple times in the head, he will still shoot you head. Act 1 and 2 were fun. Act 3 was a chore. I finished the game because of the time I put into it, not because I enjoyed it.

The final fight wasn't even fun, it was frustrating. Rather than encouraging game mechanics they've taught you earlier, they throw them out the window. It's quantity over quality. Room full of bad guys, hallway, room full of bad guys. Rinse, repeat.

3) This may not bother you, but there is pointless nudity, sex, etc. It seems like Rockstar had a profanity to sentence quota to keep up, but Max Payne will cuss for no reason.

Overall, a frustrating, droll ride through what could have been so much more. Pass it and play Max Payne 1. The graphics may not have held up, but the gameplay beats this hands down.
