When a bee stings, it rips itself apart and dies for its audacity. This appeals to those worshipping a God that demands sacrifice and atonement. But the wasp is promiscuous. They are not as sympathetic to the masses because they don't die when they sting. They live to sting another day... and they take pleasure from that.

We observe narrowband pairs of time-correlated photons of wavelengths 776 nm and 795 nm from non-degenerate four-wave mixing in a laser-cooled atomic ensemble of

{Rb} using a cascade decay scheme. Coupling the photon pairs into single mode fibers, we observe an instantaneous rate of 7700 pairs per second with silicon avalanche photodetectors, and an optical bandwidth below 30 MHz. Detection events exhibit a strong correlation in time (

The ALPHA project was initiated in 1991 at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland (Coddington
et al., 1992) to investigate experimentally and analytically two main aspects of containment design for the
next-generation of passive Advanced Light Water Reactors (ALWR), namely long-term decay heat removal
and fission product retention. Both the dynamic response of passive containment systems, as well as detailed understanding of certain key containment phenomena, are investigated.
