After 1,5 years and almost 750 hours I think it's finally time to write a review for this game. It's not flawless, cause what game really is?

It has its bugs and everybody's complaining, but to be honest, they don't really bother me that much because they're mostly acceptable. Really game breaking and annoying bugs are mostly pretty quickly fixed. The balance in the game is mostly good (sometimes more killer favored, sometimes more survivor favored). The developers are pretty invested in the game, they're doing weekly twitch streams where they discuss what special events, community challanges, dlcs, reworks, etc. are ahead and answer Q&As. Even though they're not always listening to the community when it comes to certain stuff, they're doing a great job. The looks of the maps, characters and killers is done beautifully and with great care.

The game provides much fun once you get really into it. At first it can be a little scary, but this effect gets a little lost the longer you play as you get used to your role and the characters. For a long time I played 99% survivor and I was a total loser in the beginning, so don't be disappointed if your first matches end badly for you. You have to get used to how you play. You slowly grind your way up to the top and while it can be really frustrating (there were situations where I screamed at my computer), it can be also rewarding. You can play stealthy but you can also play bold and rescue teammates, but just be careful you don't accidentally kill yourself or your mates with your boldness.

For the past 6-8 months I've been also playing as the killer. It's been a little more pressure, since the game flow is not really as 'relaxing' as a survivor since you're always fully concentrated, chasing people if you find them etc, but it's been fun. But I must say, playing as a killer can be pretty frustrating too. Don't expect when you start to play a killer to be the top killer who kills everyone and everything. Maybe you'll kill no one in the beginning. When I started playing there were only 3 killer as options but now, since the game has grown a lot, you can be one of 10 killers with different powers. If you're interested in playing also killer, you gotta find one which fits your playstyle the most. You have to learn how to effectively use your power to find and sacrifice the survivors. The killers powers are pretty well done. With every killer that joins the game the survivors gotta learn how to play against him and adjust to the new killers powers.

The community still very active and you almost find a game to play in. But the community is also sometimes... well... a salt mine. There are nice people of course too, but sometimes when people are bad at losing, it can be a pure kindergarten of salt. But you don't have to deal with it, just hide the post-chat and you don't have to deal with it. Of course there will also be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in some games, not that often, but it can happen. People who exploit some game mechanics, farm points on you & killing you with it, camping killers who make the game unfun etc etc, but remind yourself that it's like dealing with people in real life. Some are idiots, some are not, and this is just a game in the end.

I pretty much love this game since it's one of few games I never lose interest in. Sometimes I play it pretty addictively. It's round based and you always face different people on different maps, with different perks, different items and different conditions. No match is the same as the last one.

If you choose to buy this game be prepared that it's not a perfect game, but it's a hell of a ride and there wil be more new stuff coming for it.
