A lot of control issues that leave games inferior to the original flash versions (things that were snappy mouse control, become slugging, un rebindable keyboard controls)
Music is non existant in a lot of games or glitches.
Many games are just straight up glitchy.
Art is not always acurrately redrawn (having any sort of fan of the original game involved in the process to give artist revision notes would have helped. Or was redrawn but not polished and refined, as if every asset was upscaled independent of each other. Some assets were lazily not even upscaled (such as the spellseeker wizard with thier many frames of animation) so thats just a grainy video recording.)
Story is flat, boring, contextless, not lore accurate, and lacks any new artwork to give the imagination anything to base it on.
Interface is tedious (you have to back out to the world map to go back in and play other games of that world, and things like starting a new game is not marked as such)
Story mode requires you to play and beat each game in the story order, before you can free play all games, it prevents you from visiting old games, so if you DID like something, you have to play a bunch of things you dont like in order to go back to it.)
the one original game is unpolished, and awkward. Its out of character for the main character to act like that, and they look utterly joyless as they wiggle.
Nyx was a poor choice of a player character.

a great instance of how to do an unfolding game of discovery and knowledge checkpointing.

A fantastic return to the series being good. Its full of JRPG tropes, but this is a strength. it knows what it is, and is navigating that idenity well. The ARPG elements are simple and engaging, and i found myself seeking out fights to try things out, or just to experience gameplay.

When i first saw this game, i thought it was too hardcore for me. But Supergiant has added (as is per thier own tradition) difficulty accessability. this game is a casual romp, but super fast action, and very rewarding. HIghly reccomended.

Play this game. It tries so many completly new things that it should be part of the pantheon of gaming literature. Like many others have said, do not seek out spoilers. This game is all about exploration, and discovering the unknown. If you spoil that, the game is ruined. That said, this game gives the most concentrated dose of awe and rush associated with solving, finding, and connecting things. You cant find that feeling anywhere else. It's the perfect difficulty, things like the ships log were far more helpful than I anticipated, and i hope to see features like it in future games.

lovely effort, lovely game. I cried with joy at the end.
