In Shadows Of Doubt, gathering evidence to finger your man is only half the game.

When you think you've found your man, woman or other, and the house they reside in, remember:

Knock twice. Count to five. Drink your can of Starch Kola. Feel the energy flowing through your veins. Listen to them unlock the doors. Look into their eyes as the door opens. See the lives they've claimed. Feel the sword tucked within your trench-coat poking feverishly against you. It's not our job to be the executioner - not today. Close the door on them. Wait half a second for confusion to register...

Then let them have it. Slam that door open with the boot of God. Knock them cold on the ground and cuff 'em. It's not our job to be the executioner - we're justice personified. Turn 'em in after stealing their diamonds... Stop for a donut halfway there.

Get fined for arresting the wrong guy - but the fine is less than the price of the diamonds we already pawned off.

When the city is cast into the shadows of doubt, net gain is all that matters for someone who wants to retire some day...

Can't wait for survival mode to be added.

This is the perfect game for heterosexuals like myself to reassert their overabundant heterosexuality.

It isn't often a game will challenge heterosexuals to maintain their intimate heterosexuality, and this one is definately no different from the rest. Playing through multiple playthroughs while maintaining the "No ♥♥♥♥" mentality is a wonderful way to pass the time as you relentlessly buy things for your cat BFs (Best Friends) on your numerous (play) dates.

The intimate lifestyle of multiple guys living under one roof and sharing numerous interests and main characters is a genre not fully explored by mainstream developers; And indeed, those that do explore this genre tend to push the recent trend of diversity by making the main character of games engage with numerous individuals of numerous backgrounds, such as:

  • White
  • Black
  • Asian
  • Indian (India, not Native American I'm not a bigot ok)

As you might expect, this leaves the characters to develop only on a rudimentary level without much thoughtfulness put into their character besides sweeping generalizations that feel almost unnatural. This game, Nekojishi, however explores beyond those boundries and focuses on an even closer inspection of asians. Specifically the:
  • Japanese
  • Chinese (Han)
  • Some Mongol-Tribesman or something? I dunno.

This is important, because it leads us to learn more about the cultures of each of the main characters, rather than the sweeping generalizations mentioned prior. One of the specific things I was interested in was how the diets and food choices of all the main characters differed. The Chinese Tiger liked succulent roasted pig for his daily meals, whereas the nubile Leopard enjoyed a more refined pallete of tubed rice.

But even then, deeper levels of culture are revealed in this game; for example, the Chinese Tiger and the Japanese Yaokai are natural enemies and befittingly, the Japanese Kitten is ruthlessly rutted by the Chinese Tiger as sufferance for his many crimes throughout the series and in the nation-states history.

    I give it a purrfect 10/10.
