I have nae finished the game yet, but so far it's been a pleasant surprise. A good, inclusive, interpenetration of the rule set has combined with some solid storytelling. It's not a complicated story, but a solid dive into the fantasy D&D tropes. I love character creation, though the mini-histories we write don't appear in the accessible in the game. Personality traits chosen during creation seem to have translated into dialog and even subtle actions on screen. I've been allowed to negotiate with vampyres, not kill a necrotic big bad, or his minions. The personality traits seem to influence alignment, while they never outright state and alignment. Excellent depth in a single player game.

I hope they develop other modules for it (Temple of Elemental Evil done correctly please) . This game pre-released around the BG3 release, and of course finished well before it. It feel like the better game, or maybe better story so far. (Though engine is great). Come watch me on Twitch you will see what I mean.

I also wonder, with the custom Dungeon Creator, if there isn't room for this to become an open tabletop simulator. I could imagine running a good virtual tabletop session inside this engine.

Great game, incredible depth and variety. I've played over 700 hrs and not finished the main quest because I keep getting distracted other options and possibilities. Currently I'm playing an all custom clan of dwarfs and letting the NPCs run my kingdom.
