Do note that this game just came into 1.0 and had a majority of bug fixes from Early Access. Most of the major bugs that were present in Early Access are mostly gone, but new bugs have appeared, which aren't too impactful in a way besides stuttering when switching tools, but the overall feel of the game has improved from Early Access and performance, while not reaching a high rate on a semi-budget GPU, it can still hold up to 60fps at least for most of the islands. Yes, the game will have jank. Yes, the performance might not reach the triple digits, but that's not the point in a co op survival game. Yes, your ship will disappear after a load in or crash, which can be fixed, by just simply relaunching the game until the devs apply the 30 day patch.


The movement and ship building mechanics are very unique to this kind of genre or rather, this is a new or variant of a genre of survival that is very hard to find. If you like going fast, swinging like spider-man or just doing sick flips while traversing through islands, then this movement might be the one. As for ship building and control, the ships you build relate to how you build it, plus its weight. Every material has weight, from the cloth you use for sails to the metals you use on the gears and components, plus it affects their stats respectfully to their placement on that part. The progression is simple and the game doesn't hold your hand on what to do after you do the main questline to learn the basics. So if you like figuring things out with enviormental or context clues that you find, this progression is it.


As someone who has played Worlds Adrift, this game really feels like home after being absent of that feel of swinging through the rocks and clouds and flying a sailboat, to a tank of a ship. I wouldn't call this a reboot, but more of a continuation to what could of been.
