I (usually) only leave reviews for Steam events, but this is an exception. I used to love Bethesda, and I enjoyed this game despite it being mid at best. But after witnessing what happened today on X, I can't remain silent nor in good conscience recommend anything from them. An absolute shame.

MANAGED DEMOCRACY HAS PREVAILED!!

So I have not experienced the performance problems yet during my playthrough except for a stutter every now and then, and for that alone I cannot downvote it.

Here's my pros and cons:

Pros:
- Graphics are great (especially with Raytracing on)
- Combat is very smooth and enjoyable (Jedi Knight difficulty)
- Good story so far
- I enjoy fighting actively with companions
- The stances are genius
- DISMEMBERMENT IS A THING NOW

Cons:
- Performance hiccups (I'm running on a Vector GP66 HX Laptop with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU)
- Too expensive, and will not pay $20.00 for a deluxe upgrade with only a few cosmetics changes

If you have bought the game experiencing performance issues, I would wait before the 2 weeks before requesting a refund. They should patch it prior to then. If they don't...well then EA (yet again) deserves it.

EA did something right with Star Wars. Impossible, I know.

The first ever video game I played was the original and it's Rise of Rome expansion, and it's wonderful to see it graphically enhanced to the level it is now.

Yes, there are some issues with it that were present in the original, especially when it comes to pathfinding (and the lack of a stance option to prevent my units from being overaggressive), but the gameplay still holds up after all these years. If you played AoE back in the day, then I definitely recommend. If not, I still recommend if not anything but to see how the RTS has evolved.

Wow. Just wow.

It's got the charm. It's got the original (and new) content. It's got the modern features.

Sure it's got a couple of bugs, but I'm sure they'll be fixed. I always loved the AoE series, and this is no exception.

I am currently losing a lot of money but keep getting funded. Thank you startup culture investing!

Launching Mini-Nukes is fun.

In VR, it's even more fun.

This was one of the first games I ever played as I child, and to this day, I give it a 10/10. I personally believe it to be the best RTS of all time, even after all these years. Now I can't wait for AOE 1 remaster...
