First things first, if you're anime only or somehow never heard of Higurashi, play the entirety of Higurashi When They Cry. For AO it's to experience true culture. For the uninitiated, this collection of stories spoils the mystery of the first game and requires some amount of backstory to understand and appreciate.
Hinamizawa Bus Stop
Man what an emotional rollercoaster.
It was like a Shakespearean play and what I felt must've been how those audiences watching them at the time felt. From laughter to terror and dread to tender emotions in tonal shift whiplashes. The contrast between comedy and tragedy really makes you question if there even is a line between the two, and that tragedy is only the opposite side of comedy. Do we only laugh because it is a tragedy that hasn't befallen us? In our own lives aren't we ourselves ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?
WTC Outbreak
The pure essence of Higurashi in one perfect short story about Hinamizawa Syndrome turning into a potential pandemic. I'll leave it at that.
WTC Kamikashimashi
The continuation of Outbreak.
Plot Summary: Communication is important m'kay?
WTC Mehagashi Chapter
The girls wear world ending bikinis, and Keiichi has to get them off by any means necessary! Just good clean fun.
PS: Thank you Irie-san for this blessing brought to us by maid evangelism.

Saya No Uta is one of the first visual novels I have played, and to this day I still consider it the best video game of all time, and I will buy it every time it is rereleased.
One of Gen Urobuchi's (the guy who created Madoka Magica and Thunderbolt Fantasy) earliest works, I believe it is a video game that every horror fan should play at least once. It is ultimately one of those games I suggest is worth going in blind, because it is my favorite story on love, living when faced with endless suffering, and what it means to be human.
The Steam version is an all-ages version so all the sex scenes have been removed (although there are scenes with female-presenting nipples in them), but it's made clear there was sex and the most integral details are still left in. I'd say it's good for players who avoid sex scenes for whatever reason. However I'd recommend getting the patch sold by JAST USA to get a greater sense of the emotional attachment and sadism that pervades the story. It's a short game and story from the best multi-media writer of all time, it is filled with sadness and cruelty, but through that conveys beauty and unconditional love.

This is a game that is a sequel to Muv-Luv, and playing the previous game helps understand the context of this one, especially considering the timeline hopping and flashbacks to the first Muv-Luv. Even if game 1 doesn't seem like your cup of tea, it is completely worth it just for getting the whole picture of Alternative and its second act. And trust me, it's better to go into this franchise with zero context.
I'm still in the middle of playing this game, and having been hyped for over a year have not been dissapointed. Do you like stories of war, science fiction, and philosophical dilemnas over your own humanity and intrinsic worth in the face of the universe? Even if you don't, play this game. It is full of quandries, both fantastical and solidified in our current reality; perhaps even some we or our succesors will have to answer for themselves in the face of ever accelerating technological advances.
This triology may have started off as a simplistic story about developing a romantic relationship with 5 (or 6?) lovely girls, but has evolved into so much more that it is one of those games that transcends gender and cultural divides. It is a game every person should play before they die; if not for the life lessons, then for the journey.

This is a mighty fun collection of short games that delve into homosexuality; so if you don't like men and can't take a joke this isn't a game for you. It's the gay/fujoshi equivalent to a boob game but somehow even more ridiculous. A spanking session, ice cream licking sim, sexually confusing Initial D scene, and a snipper game filled with ♥♥♥♥ jokes. There's not really much to complain about since this game is free and hilarious.

I bought this game because it was less than a buck and thought to myself, wow a decently priced game, I hope it's fun. Now I know the game is actually way too cheap.
Suits: A Business RPG is one of those video games I'd recommend to anyone who thinks all indie games are just gimmicky, cash grabs with minimum effort put into them.
A lot of attention went into this game, from the NPCs to the turn based fighting system; I can't find a fault with this game. The turn based fighting system is actually very fairly balanced, and never did I find myself thinking the game was too difficult or too easy. Even the black and white, doodlish style that might turn people off works in the game's favor. It perfectly reflects the bland, mass produced dystopia of a monopoly controlled world where even human life is treated as nothing more than capital gain or loss. It also has a very neat, brilliant ending I dare not spoil. These were some of my highlights.
  • Cancelling that horrible show The Big BangTheory, I mean, The Huge Boom Hypothesis
  • Went on an acid trip that taught me the meaning of life
  • Got the Keys to Success
  • Found a secret room full of shirtless men
  • Met the very sexually attractive game devs whom were not falsely portayed in any way shape or form. Obviously. Only the most perfect men can create such a perfect game.
Simply put, it's a fun game. Some reviews assert the game only mocks one topic and bashes it into the ground, but there is so much more to the humor than that. For example, every clock in the game reads either 4:20 or 7:30. You only find out why once you find a piece of paper in a cabinet on a left wing of a building detailing how scientists snuck something into the water supply so the populace would only see these two times. It was actually a very cleverly hidden joke making fun of conspiracy theorists on top of a 420 reference. Blaze it. I feel as long as you don't take anything too seriously and appreciate straightforward humor you'll enjoy the game for what it is.

If you're a gamer that also happens to be a woman, this is the most authentic self love simulator there is since every time I play my fingers become increasingly weak and despite the shakiness; keep pressing on just to finish.
Highly recommended for finger excercise (which will come in handy later when you want more than a simulation).

Early Access Review
Bullets and enemies cover every inch of the screen.
You have to watch your gun's heat gauge or you'll ♥♥♥♥ up your ship.
Aliens spawn from the bottom like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Good luck dodging bullets with millimeters of safe space.

Therefore it is a quality bullet hell game. You can't have a bullet hell without the hell.
Who is Galagan? And where is his island? I don't know and I don't care, this is simply a fun game.
