I purchased this game in pre-alpha because it looked like a very promising Adventure MMO. While there is quite the learning curve in its current state (something that is being made easier with the developers focus on the New User Experience), it is very rewarding to those who invest the time to learn the games mechanics. It is one of the few games since I was a child that has given me a real sense of exploration and adventuring. Often times I play in a small group of friends, with each of us filling different roles. The games combat uses a deck based system that was initially confusing. After learning how exactly it works, it is a refreshing take on the typical hot bar approach to combat that is both intuitive, intriguing, and satisfying. Even more so if you're familiar with games such as "Magic, The Gathering". The Game also features a robust and complex crafting system that feels rewarding.

The way that Quests are handled where you actually have free form dialogues with the NPCs to advance your quests is outlandishly gratifying. For example: In one of the earlier quests I couldn't find the person I needed to talk to, who was the guard captain of a city. On a hunch, I simply asked a guard where I could find her and e told me exactly where she could be found. The ability to do something such as this blew my mind. Some of the stories told through the quests are also quite gripping, and at times can even be morally dark.

Typically, I don't care for housing in games, however one of the most interesting aspects of the game is the Player Owned Town system that offers players the ability to stake out their own place in the world, and (quite literally) put themselves on the map. I've not played long enough to experience housing, but it is something that I look forward to.

While the game does not hold your hand, or clearly explain some of the more advanced features (again, something that is being improved) the support and willingness to help from the community to aid new players is astounding. Usually I can find how to do something with a quick search on Google, which will yield a video tutorial or an incredibly detailed forum post on exactly what I'm looking for.

While there are some bugs I've not encountered anything that has made the game unplayable. Though some of the load times are a bit long, certain areas will have a low frame rate, and the game has crashed (only once), these issues get better with each update. I still highly recommend this game for players who are looking to immerse themselves in a world that is both wildly entertaining and meticulously detailed.
