Fantastic! An instant hyper-fixation for me. It sucked me in right away. KCD2 is Worth every penny. The first game didn't hold me for long, but they seem to have addressed the things I didn't like about it originally, mainly how the combat felt. Now it's a whole different experience. Even if you've not played the first game they do a good job filling in the blanks so you don't feel lost.

Not even sure if I'm halfway through the game yet or not but my god is it good. 100% worth picking up if you're a fan of more realistic medieval settings. The writing is great. Interactions and dialogue feels organic, even with the random NPCs and their interactions with one another. People have accents and even speak in broken english mixed with their own native languages to add to the immersion. The foundational worldbuilding is based faithfully towards historical records of the time period, with a bit of storytelling spice to make it seem more fanciful without feeling absurd or unrealistic. The gameplay itself is hard at first, but once you get going it really takes off. The crown jewel of the experience so far for me are Henry and Hans-- they're such an iconic duo I have a hard time remembering better in recent gaming history.

All in all, it's my personal game of the year. I hardly ever write any reviews, but this game warrants it.

Haven't played since 2015. Just got to their new/current content, they've done a great job! All in all, great time back in it. Ambitious developments that paid off, good story and writing, and a bunch more stuff. Won't spoil it, just get in there and enjoy!

10/10 would 10 again
