Got this game to fill my need of a M&L RPG because one of the abilities reminded me of a fun special attack from those games. But I dropped it about 10 hours in to play the Mario RPG remaster.
When I picked it back up a few days ago, this game has begun hitting me with nothing but surprises I never really expected. It's to the point where it's just it's own thing than being something that fills the need for a Mario and Luigi RPG.

It has some fun world mechanics. An engaging combat system where trying to learn and master the timings for each attack and enemy I find fun. And a world that got me interested in it's lore and story which is rare for me. Usually YouTube videos are the ones that convince me that the lore in a game is interesting. I assume this is because the game is a prequel to Sabotage's previous game The Messenger.

There was a lot I didn't expect, especially from an indie studio which I think is amazing. The best turn-based indie RPG I've ever played to date.
