First allow me to address the elephant in the room: the optimization could indeed be better. However, a mid-range PC from 2021 can easily run this game at 50fps (or 100s with frame generation). It's up to the player to know and tweak graphical settings, that's true. Still, nowadays you have plenty of resources in Youtube and forums for this.

As for the gameplay and feel of the game, it's more World than Rise. I think Rise was a lot of fun, but it felt more like a homage to older MH. This one feels part of the revolution that World was - better story, grounded biomes, verticality, open world feeling... The weapons feel meaty and very polished, and I'm having trouble deciding which one to pick!

The cast is very interesting, and even though that's generally not the highlight of MH, I feel I care about them. Also, finally, the player is treated like the badass they are - already an established hunter of the guild!

I'm going to keep giving hours to this game :D

Best boardgame ever, streamlined to the max.
