best game in the whole survivor-like genre

Combat is excellent. Hands down it is satisfying and visceral to play in melee. It never gets old chopping up goblins. Exploring in this game is very fun, I kept wanting to see what was around the corner. Vocation/class system is good - could use a few fixes trickster and warfarer could be improved, mages/sorcerers feel kind of limp to play, but all of the melee classes feel really good and satisfying. Pawn system is great being able to build your own DnD-esque party.

End game could've been improved on, bosses become too easy and can melt fast if you know what you're doing. Main story is short and it's not the best, but there are plenty of good side quests. The true ending area is cool but should've had more side quests associated with it to give you a reason to explore the new areas unlocked alongside it. Also had to use a wiki for half the quests because this game has quest design from 2004, but some may see that as a positive.

Overall, this game is amazing but flawed - 8/10.

great game, reminds me of old tycoon games I used to play but in the form of owning gladiators
