“I thought I was empty,” he told her, “until you came along.”

“You came along and brought the love out from the seabed of my soul.”

“And you did it so effortlessly,” he continued,

“With just a look, and a smile.”

And before she left, she gave me one last look. Then slowly and gently, she slipped her arms around me, holding me like I was still the most precious thing she had ever laid her hands on. In that moment, she said nothing at all. In that moment, I could feel the words in her soul digging into my heart.

“I love you.”

“I dearly love you.”

“Oh how I will always love you.”
