It impressed me, really. While I'm not a die-hard fan of beat 'em ups, I do enjoy them. However, they often suffer from being "one-time fun" before becoming repetitive. Absolum, however, pulls you into its loop tightly, revealing more details and gameplay features with each new run. The progression is very good. It seems like there is a lot to discover, and it feels really good each time you find out something new about the world. A little detail here and there - that's how a good developer should build their game. The SFX, music, and voiceover are great.

P.S. At the time of this review, I had already played it for over eight hours because a friend showed it to me and we played it all day on their account. I rarely buy games these days (I have little time to play...), but I made an exception this time because I could not wait to play it again asap.

I can count many issues of the game, yet it feels good. For me, it gives a way to play many different characters and styles in a short time. And with friends. Fast-paced and visceral. The bosses are interesting enough to play against many times, well, maybe except Everdark Augur.

The greatest 3D fighting game ever. Juicy visuals, almost infinite possibilities to learn and progress, best rage-control trainer.

Excellent variety. Fast and skill-dependent fights. Kinda slow progression for my taste, but it's OK.
Pleasant either for sinking in or for playing from time to time.
Ongoing Classic!?

A dark fantasy fairy tale which will lead you through the very atmospheric story with all kind of slavic demons. And it's not about good vs evil, but much deeper.
For the gameplay... well, sometimes it requires flexibility and otherwise will be punishing. It's still worth playing even if you don't like the gameplay, just lower difficulty.

Royal RPG from bird's-eye. A balm for those who like to dive deep into details.
Already 250h+ but feels like I'm just starting.

Best PC exclusive. GOTY

The bittersweet ending of this masterpiece is so powerful that it's worth the price solely. Though it couldn't be possible without all the path. The beautiful and dreadful path in its decaying. The anxiety they develop in you all the game glues all the pieces which will brake apart in the end as all hopes you may had as a human being.

If your soul calls to the stars and loves adventures then it's your chance!
But it won't be an easy path, expect brutal dangers on battlefields.
Think twice what you mount into your ships, you'll need synergy otherwise you won't survive.

But what is it technically you may ask?
Well... let's see.

- There are eight sectors with a tough boss-battle at the end of each
- Sectors are split into 20-30 (?) "points of interest"
- Each point of interest will bring you some dialogs and sometimes battles
- Sometimes problems can be solved in different ways. Sometimes it depends on your reputation (plain good/bad guy scale)
- Don't expect serious Sci-Fi from dialogs. They are rather naive and short. Sometimes they just pretend to be something more. I think it's even better for such a journey
- Each sector has 2 "point of interest"-shops. There you can repair your ships, buy a new one and buy weapons/modules to enhance your ships
- There are a lot of different weapons with different mechanics and enough of modules (which are split into passive and active)
- Each ship model has predefined amount of slots for weapons and passive/active modules and you can't change this, but you can buy another model of ship
- Each ship can be upgraded and will become harder, faster, stronger. You don't need a shop for this, just credits
- Battles take place on one-screen map divided into squares. Your ship can move from one to another and change its direction (rotate)
- If enemy ship is in attack range of your ship you can pick it as a target
- Also you can activate module abilities which have limitation of using per battle, so use wisely
- You can pause anytime or speedup (x2/x3 are avaiable)

Highly recommended if you like "naive" adventures (especially in space setting) and want challenging battles

If you want "easy mode" - use 3 rockets on the dreadnought and passive module which makes them available at the start of the battle - it can one-shot some enemies at the start of the battle if you are accurate :-D

Move your feet. Fight the gravity. Repair things.
Funny. Challenging.

6 of 69 levels are unfairly hard to beat and you'll suffer. But not too much.

It was inspired by The Banner Saga, but it's not a clone. It's better IMO.
All of the parts are excellent:
- Story - deeper than you might think at first. The lore of the world is rich and well developed. In the end you'll be filled with a feeling of ended journey
- Turn-based battles - feel overcomplicated at first, but soon I was used to it and started to get a lot of fun. I must say I've beaten all the battles (maybe except one, don't remember well) without getting wounds. In that way it's played like a puzzle. A really good one
- Music - deserves to be listened to outside of the game on repeat
- Visuals - beautiful and astonishing. All are well detailed

Is it perfect? Some say the English translation is not that good. It's also has some bugs, two or three times in a playthrough I got stuck (your turn doesn't start) in a battle and I had to restart.

One of the best games I've ever played
