If all you want to do is to play a quick, chilled-out session for a while every now and again, then sure, go ahead. The game is perfect for that, it's pretty fun, and it's free! However, beware of bugs. Issues start cropping up once you hire a decent amount of bits, and eventually the game will start crashing more and more often. This is not too much of an issue for a casual playtrough (just a tad annoying at most), but if you're going to 100% completion, then be warned that the mounting crashes might make the game become just about unplayable in very late stages. I also recommend keeping a backup save on hand, since if you have a misfortune of running into an autosave during a crash, your savefile will become corrupted.
If you can look past the technical issues, there's a decently fun game in here. I hope that after a patch or two this review will turn into a full reccomend :]]

I think people are too harsh on this game. Admittedly it is a bit buggy and unpolished, but imo it's not that much worse in this regard than most other indie games I played. Technical issues aside, Stygian is actually really bloody good, especially if you're into Lovecraft and the RP part of RPGs. This is the sort of game where you spend most of the time exploring the world, talking to people, figuring stuff out and surviving rather than fighting. The combat is pretty difficult and it might come off as unfair or clunky, but that's because the game isn't about slaughtering hordes of enemies (unless you choose to build your characters specifically for that) - it incentivises you to experiment, think, and try to find an alternate solution to problems. If you like this sort of experience and are looking for some heavy, depressing atmosphere of postapocalyptic llovecraftian horror, then I would highly recommend checking this one out.

I really wanted to like this VN, but goodness gracious is the writing hot garbage. TFW you buy a game specifically for the older cast but they all act like teenagers anyway... Also the relationships are so rushed, it's hard to really give a ♥♥♥♥ about the romance or characters involved. And since there's really no plot aside for the romance, it becomes hard to stay engaged...

Nice little game with charming visuals and a cozy atmosphere. Short, but sweet. I'd recommend you play this if you want to relax.

Simple, addictive, and relaxing. I'm not proud of my hours spent coloring, but I have to admit that it's a nice way to wind down after classes. Just put some music or a podcast in the backround and you're set for the evening.

Feels were felt ;-; I finished my first route yesterday and I couldn't stop thinking about it the entire day and half of the night. I'll do the rest shortly and perhaps write an actual review then, but for now, I'll just go and suffer alone in my crying corner and meme it into oblivion. Seriously, why is there no fandom for this game?!

EDIT 2023: WTF was I on? This game sucks LMFAO past me had no taste

I found a raven-headed humanoid shackled in a dungeon. It was muttering strange things to itself and wondering what kinds of fluids are circulating under my skin. Of course, I freed it. It jumped on me and tore me to bloody shreds.

Then, in a dark forest, I found a goblet of minty water and a bowl full of sweet berries. Being a responsible adult that I am, I ate & drank it all. Two minutes later I ate my own arm as I transformed into a half-werewolf half-shoggoth creature.

You can also summon an Eldritch god in the second chapter. 10/10
