I bought Skyrim Special Edition to be able to finish something I started when I first began playing video games on a PC. It was the first purchase I made as a pre-teen and it never got finished.

I can proudly say now, after 14 years, I've finished the main quest and I think it was mid. I would give this game a 5.5/10 for story and mechanics. At the time the game released, it was the pinnacle of story based sandbox games, though as the genre has improved vastly over the years I cannot overlook its saturated questlines and overly simplistic combat. Even with the addition of mods, I played through this with Evergleam V2, the game still feels barren of life and doesn't offer much past traditional RPG elements.

Pick this game up if you are a die-hard Bethesda fan and have played previous titles, otherwise look toward its contemporaries for a more up to date approach to the fantasy RPG story game. Cheers.
