You can complete the main story entirely offline, though you will miss out on online-only resources (GMP/materials) and FOB base-building modes.

I want to give a good review but can't ignore forced internet connection for a 100% in a single player game.

"Intruder" Achievement: This requires you to play an FOB (Forward Operating Base) infiltration mission.

No game should require me to connect to internet to 100% it for single-player games. Even something as small as this.

Great, holds up well. People freaking out over DRM issue are behaving hysterical. Took less than 5 minutes to tweak in order to be compatible with steam deck. Only modern tweak missing I WOULD of preferred having is skipping cut scenes. 10/10

Highly recommend. I picked this up for only $2.50, easily would pay $20-$25 for the experience. I haven't even finished it yet, but I been itching to write a review. Great soundtrack, great native controls for Steam Deck. Simplistic story (in a good way), doesn't complicate itself and the story intertwines with said gameplay. Game easily surpasses 60 fps on OLED Deck. Very optimized.

Fast paced gameplay, can be challenging but that is entirely part of the fun. The game makes sure you have to utilize all mechanics given to you in order to succeed. I really enjoy games that dont hand hold you, but give you all the tools necessary to succeed.

Without overwhelming the player, this game gives you a fast paced experience, taking elements from Mirrors Edge, Super Hot, and one of my favorites, Mullet Mad Jack.

Its rare I find a game for so cheap on sale that has me so excited to play. Very fun, you can tell just by this review how excited I get just talking about it.

Elephant in the room:
Tried enjoying, soulless cash grab unity project by greedy devs that allow malicious code in workshop. The devs should be ashamed of themselves but they dug themselves too deep to admit wrong at this point.

Difficulty:
Aside from the ethic problems allowing malicious actors to still be present and posting content, game-play can be improved. Enemy behavior is too predictable leaving you knowing how to expect each encounter by the 4th run outside.

There is a problem with the difficulty settings, you cannot tweak difficulty to where all enemies deal the normal damage amount, and losing gear immediately upon death. Rather, the devs thought it was a good idea to have "losing all gear upon death" only be applicable on a difficulty where the enemies deal 150%+ DMG. Very weird dumb decision.

It was fun for a steam deck game for a short time, but not worth the purchase until the devs fix their massive problems in their ego, and overall more tweaks on difficulty. I dont want the game to be easier, I want the game to be easier to tweak for my own expectations of a extractation shooter.

False positive VAC bans for +left binds. This has been used in the game for ages, mostly by surfers and bhoppers, but can also be used by low sens players to turn around quicker, it's a legit thing they added to the game so banning it makes no sense.. they could also just make it a command that only works with sv_cheats if they didn't want people to use it. But it is primarily best reason for being an option is for accessibility for the game to be played by others who cannot use the native control for left movement. Banning people for this is targeting those with disability who cannot play with native WASD controls. Not a very thoughtful decision.

Game sucks, its only good for making money from betting now. Embarrassing from Valve. My only consistent complaint with Valve will be their anti-cheat detection.

There is really no excuse for this to be VAC ban if its been in the game and older versions in the series forever.

Add clarification with an update removing it by adding it to sv_cheats, or fix your VAC detection so its not a false positive.

Stupid I should have to make a review over something like this.

One of my favorite games of 2025. Fun with friends. I dislike the term "slop" used for co-op experience with friends. This was innovative experience and the devs are updating it with fun biomes that challenge the players more with each new design. The devs are very interactive with the community in general and do take feedback into consideration.

Worth buying for full price. I picked it up on launch day and have no regrets.

Could use more atmospheric sounds! That is my only wish for this.

Objectively best version of PvZ to play on PC. Do NOT waste your money on the remaster, as they did not hire or ask for help from the original artist, creating bad renders of the original art style.

This edition is the only one worth getting, it hasn't been updated since its release date and it doesn't need it.

The new remaster didn't even have the same sound track system and had to be updated due to fan pressure.

So: best version of PvZ, stick to this copy, solid OST and art style. Game play is very repeatable.

One of my introductions to the Steam Deck was this game, plays excellent with controls for the deck, unsure of how it plays on mouse. Feels built for controller. Good sound track and game play. Short game, recommend waiting to pick it up when its on a discount.

After completing this games massive amount of achievements after 10+ years, I feel comfortable enough to say its one of my favorite games of all time. It ran on my thinkpad in 2011, my first steam game besides TF2 and Garrys Mod.

Out of every installment in the series, this is definitively the best in art style, music, general atmosphere, and game play.

Seems like one of those co-op survival horrors that will always have a dedicated fanbase, think left4dead2.

If I was left with no options, Killing Floor 1 is my favorite. Killing Floor 2 is only better out of convenience finding a lobby fast with friends.

You have to manually enter the IP of a server in the console command after sharing it with a friend in order to join together. In my own opinion, KF2s only advantage over the original game is having an easier way to connect with friends.
