Since early 2024, the developers have been putting effort into the game again and there's plenty to do now. While the game is far from perfect and still has its fair share of issues, it's in a far better place than it used to be.

If you like Vampire Survivors, you'll probably like this. There are a lot of references to hololive, but really you can play it without any knowledge of hololive or their talents just fine.

"Played" this game for probably thousands of hours using the browser version since I started playing in Feb 2020. Very good if you enjoy idle/incremental games.

If you've played and enjoyed Theme Hospital, then you will absolutely love this game as well. It's pretty much an updated version of it.

Long-due update: It has probably been around a year since I actually last played Warframe after running out of content and getting bored of waiting for DE to add more - at the time of this update, we've been waiting multiple years for The New War to release. Since my initial review, the game has gone through several updates, and all of them have had MASSIVE issues on launch. Update after update DE release buggy updates, often rendering the content completely unplayable, for days, if not weeks after release.

If you're a player that just jumps in every now and then, then this likely won't be a big deal, but if you want to play the latest and greatest content for the game, then you'll need to deal with this basically every update.

Due to this, I can no longer recommend playing this game unless you really don't care about new content. Oh, and all this is before we get to the fact that the game has not one, but TWO premium currencies.

————— Original Review —————

A fantastic game if you can give it a chance. Has premium currency, but you never need to buy it as you can earn it in-game from trading with players. Bit grindy at times, but the grind more often than not actually feels worth it; you feel accomplished when you finally work your way up to a new weapon or frame.

This game is very clearly a labour of love for the developers; every time something new is coming they are always both excited and nervous. Do they get it right every time? No. They do not, but they always try to make it right, and they always aim to do so as fast as possible.

Edit edit: As of August 26th, Rockstar have taken to removing money from peoples' accounts WHETHER THAT MONEY IS LEGITIMATE OR NOT. Due to the way Rockstar consistently treat their customers like crap, I cannot recommend this game at all. If you do buy it, do yourself a favour and avoid GTA Online like the damn plague, because it's only a matter of time before all your legitimate earnings get removed.

Edit: Since this review was written, Take-Two have reversed their C&D on OpenIV, however, I will be leaving this as not recommended based off the other points I made in the review.

Given the recent events between Take-Two deeming that modding GTA 5 is no longer acceptable and their CEO somewhat recently saying that they weren't "monetising users enough", I simply cannot recommend this game any more.

The premise of Online was great, but the implementation was a massive disaster; severely lacking, with everything you can do locked behind several hours of grind, or simply just sitting there and waiting 6-8 hours for coloured bars to fill up. It's all just a lot of repetitive grinding and waiting around for bars to fill.

Torchlight II is the successor to Torchlight, an Action-RPG Dungeon Crawler-esque game that sends the player through countless dungeons and landscapes killing a variety of different monsters that may stand in their path in order to complete their quests.

Combat is very satisfying, weapons feel like they have weight and it feels great while using some of the bigger ones. Also, the enemies tend to explode. A lot.

The weapons are EXTREMELY diverse, though a lot of them look the same in sprite, and sometimes in-world, you will likely never see every weapon in several playthroughs as many have randomly generated quirks and/or effects. You really are spoiled for choice. Armour is very much the same.

There are a diverse selection of dungeon tiles ranging from Steampunky clockwork looks to haunted crypts and as the Dungeons are randomly generated (with some exceptions) it is unlikely that you'll see the same dungeon again.

Once the player completes the game, they unlock access to a place called the "Mapworks" which allows the player to buy maps that correspond to their character's level (or not) and run a dungeon which is scaled to whatever map scroll they purchase. Some maps even have additional effects which can affect both the player and the monsters found within the dungeon.
