The game does not respect your time or your wallet.

You will pay for every single scrap of content they cut out of the base game, content they already had made, but cut just to make you pay more. It's overpriced, even on sale it would be overpriced.

Devs have no idea what to do with the game, which is a shame because they had something really fun to start with.

They mostly go by a zero nerf mindset and each new descendant is power creep, so they end up in an endless cycle of constantly buffing everyone else, which ends up invalidating all content except for the most recent...except you'll still have to go and do that content, but it'll be utterly mindless and after the 60th run, you'll struggle to keep your eyes open.

There is zero endgame to speak of, what you do at level 5 is what you'll be doing at max level, just with a fresh coat of paint on it. There are no "raids" to speak of and dungeons are the exact same "zerg down the hallway killing the one enemy that unlocks the door, then zerg the boss, repeat." mess you've already played a million times in different games.

I want to love TFD, and I used to. But the devs have proven they had no clue what to do with the game beyond launch and are now wandering around aimlessly, adding redundant systems and forgetting about them next patch.

This is not Rune Factory 6, do not go into this expecting it to play like a main series Rune Factory, it's a spinoff. Because of that, a lot of mechanics are either simplified or changed outright. It still plays like a Rune Factory game, just very modified. Taken as such, it's a very enjoyable entry, I love what they've done with the combat system and allowing for a full party is very welcome.

The farming is very simplified and mostly automated once you get further in. You can go days without even looking at the farm.

However, the spinoffs are usually where they attempt new things for the main series.

Overall, it's a very enjoyable experience.

Literally haven't played the game in over a year, just got banned.

Amazon remains a trash company and Smilegate is trash for choosing them.

Will avoid any and all Smilegate games moving forward.

I bought it 3 days ago, I have 24 hours of playtime already.

I don't remember my wife and kids face.

Probably because they left years ago.

A return to form for the Star Ocean series. I would put this top 3 behind 2 and 3.

The combat system is engaging and gets even better as time goes on and new systems unlock. The voice acting is good for the main cast, side characters are passable.

However just like in Star Ocean 2 you get to choose your protag and the other becomes a party member, you'll see the story from one side and can play again later as the other to get their side.

The soundtrack is the same we've heard since SO3. End game has 2 dungeons so no worries there.

Some people have had technical issues and others run just fine so your mileage may vary until patched.

Honestly, after SO5 this is a breath of fresh air and it feels like Star Ocean is truly back.

Early Access Review
Bought it and only had 30 minutes to play before I needed to go to bed. Looked at the clock and 2 hours had passed.

Thanks poncle for making me lose sleep.
