Good for mindless fun with casual gamer friends, but that's about it. The combat mechanics are decent for a TPS, looting is fine. PvE is pretty neat until you learn everything and don't need the drops for progression. Compared to something like Tarkov, there's no insurance system holding you hostage and needlessly causing burnout. You can play when you want to. Oh, and there's no P2W stash and prison pocket upgrades lol.

That said, the 3rd person, while executed really well, is still not a good system for this genre imo. There are so many ways to abuse it and gain an advantage, and it turns standoffs into staring contests.

The progression feels inconsequential. It's mainly about upgrading your crafting stations to unlock new recipes, and finding blueprints for more. But most of the unlocks feel only slightly better than the basic tier of craftable gear. This makes it feel very not-hardcore. Whenever you die, all you really lose is a bit of money and some crafting supplies. In my experience, most of the time I've beaten geared players by using basic gear with no issue, gone out with their high level gear, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my face caved in the exact same way.

Summary: If you like Tarkov, don't mind the insurance loop and don't have friends who refuse to play it, this is not worth your time. Overall I personally prefer the core gameplay, combat and looting of Tarkov way more, but the metagame aspects like insurance burn me out hard, not to mention the project leadership. This game is just way easier to get your casual friends to play.

Giving this vote with a lot of nuance, simply because I think the current ratings are a bit high. Note that I haven't had the time to finish the game yet, but I've reached world 3 and from the achievements I'm guesstimating that I've probably seen the majority of the game's core mechanics.

For its price, it's not bad. It's a relatively cookie-cutter modern roguelike. Builds feel shallow and META-oriented, because there's not that much synergy between components and the passive relics feel a bit underwhelming.

On the positive side, the base mechanics feel well-established and enemy attack patterns are solid and mostly easy to understand. I like that every enemy doesn't constantly deal contact damage, opening up the close range that would be needlessly dangerous in most other games. The music is great as well.

If you're considering buying the game because of the developer or without much prior roguelike experience, I wouldn't say it's a bad choice. Otherwise you might not find that much interesting to see.

Never mouthed so many things at my screen before. Meta stuff was super immersive and I never felt like it was taking anything from the game, only adding to the story, resulting in the toughest choicers I've clicked through in a video game. 10/10 writing and art, execution is impressive even before considering the engine.

Space Subnautica but you cry at the end

THIS IS THE MOST SPOILER-SENSITIVE GAME I KNOW. TRY YOUR BEST NOT TO LOOK ANYTHING UP BEFORE PLAYING THE GAME.

Best 2D to 3D shift since RoR2. Feels simply delicious to play, and the game is optimized incredibly well. If you liked Shapez 1, you willl love this one. If you liked other factory sims, you will probably enjoy it as well.

Best point and click puzzle series ever.

Played the Flash games years ago, I was stoked to see them come to Steam. Didn't expect so much extra content! I was afraid I'd just speed through the games from memory and be done with it, but the new stuff ended up more than doubling my playtime. Prepare for a lot of note-taking!


Having a history with the games, it was quite an uncanny feeling whenever I saw an obvious difference. "What grand scheme is going on here?" I'm so glad the secrets mechanic was reworked into something that you really want to see through. 100%ing took effort, yet it was enjoyable and didn't feel like a chore, although I did have very faint memories of some secrets, which probably helped.

This game genuinely changed my view on life. I've always thought that I can just easily get any woman I want, but this game made me realize: you have to put work into every relationship. Not just romantic relationships, but also your relationships with your family and friends. Otherwise you will not find what you seek. Putting in the work lets the relationship flourish and become something beautiful. Always remember that.
