It is an excellent sequel for one of the best roguelike games ever.

It is good

Hades is handling the roguelike genre in its own way. It feels different or better the other roguelikes which I liked (moonlighter, children of morta) in narrative and gameplay design.

You can go different builds and playstyles in almost every run. I think it is better than moonlighter about weapons, gameplay strats and level design and better than children of morta with story continuity and narrative design. I don't like the comparison between different games made by different studios but hades at its heart doesn't do anything original but it does better then the others.

It is a balanced, fun and narratively satisfying game. I didn't find any bug in my playthroughs. I liked the way they handled how to feel different in everytime you play. (Btw I didn't find out you can change the mirror the other way after 20+ hours and this might be because I didn't look carefully or they didn't tutorialize this.)

When you finish the game and watching the credits you might feel unsatisfied... I didn't like how they handled the story after you ended the main story. Actually I wanted more... I really liked gameplay and it is very challenging and satisfying. Story was good too but I didn't like ending. Maybe if developers want to add some dlc (more endgame bosses or more biomes) this would be very nice and fun. I actually imagined different endgame bosses like they gave us powers and we could fight against them etc.
I think I'm just imagining things.

In short; hades is a very good game and everyone should play it.

I'm only giving a positive review because this game has a lot of potential but at this moment I don't recommend to buy this game.

I tinks UI needs a little work I didn't understand that how trade mechanic works for 15 minutes but I'm a silly person maybe that is why.

For this review I've played about 8.5 hours and only did 5 missions but you don't need to do any missions. I simply sold fake whiskey to everyone and become rich. I traded fake whiskey for the other gangs' guns, money, equipment etc.

The game is very casual and not a proper strategy or turn based combat game at this moment. I played Frankie Donovan as my gang leader. In combat I was using his melee special to two different oppents and they die generally. But after a while I took Run and Gun skill. Normally when you use your special if you kill an enemy your action points regenarates but you become exhausted. I understand that the developers do this for using the melee special safely and not often (use and hide, or go away) and it has 6 turns cooldown but if you use Run & Gun after you use melee special it resets your cooldown and you can use melee special 2 or 3 times in every turn. I found this simply after 2 hours of game time. I think they didn't playtested this game enough.

As a player I didn't face any consequences neither I didn't understand that what the AI gangs doing in 1 day in game time. No one has a turn or action limit in the game so I cleared 3 gang hombases in 1 day one after the other. I could even clear them all in 1 day. Travel to gang leader's base, declare war, kill everyone at the door, get in and kill everyone inside. This is it. Gang leader doesn't run, doesn't hide. No turn limit to complete the attack, or assault. No consequences...

Game world and map is beautiful btw. There is a lot of variety for buildings and they look good. But the game has very limited interiors.

I didn't understand what police does. I gave them money and they took money everytime but one exception. There is police on the world and they walk on the streets but I didn't see any police departmant or jail. Maybe I didn't look carefully.

All gangs have almost same buildings, gang members (not special ones) and interiors. Lieutenant system doesn't work properly at this moment but they can fix it in no time.

They have added voiced dialogues for every gang leader and they feel different when they talk and act but their gang members and buildings and jobs all the same.

But even after all of this complaints I recommend this game for future. If developers love this game, their work. They will fix these problems. It is clear that they put a lot of work to this game and actually it is fun but not a porper strategy or turn based combat game fun. After a while I felt that I was playing a simple, fun mobile game which did not published by paradox.

This is the first game in the series I truly enjoyed. It has still some flaws but if you are a member of Barto Club and fan of Luffy and other Straw Hats you should play this game.

My negative review in 2018-19 was like this:

"This game is still a lie. And people are congratulating the developers for not abandoning the game. They sold us a lie and now they are trying to make truth from a lie. What a crooked way of thinking. This game published in 2016 and still not the game they promised. Go play elite, x series, deathwar 3030 redux etc. at least those games were honest."

And now my positive review in 2020 is like this:

They did what they promised and lot more in 4 years. I think game still needs a combat and tactical equipment overhaul and better UI but at this point these are my personal preferences. But they are planning some updates in 2021 too. Still too early for what to expect but maybe they can add more interesting enemies, space combat missions etc.
