First : It runs absolutely fine with a 4070 in ultra and 1440p - there have been four updates to this spacer's choice since release - may have helped

Then we can't transfer saves from the original version so i'll have to continue my playthrough on the original version

And finally with a quick look i didn't notice much of a difference - doesn't mean there aren't any - it's just that the game look nice enough originally

So yeah this version is not the best choice, it's only SPACER'S CHOICE

The game ? I'm having a good time with it (i'm 12h in), this is my first of this kind since Morrowind and i'm greatly enjoying the writing and the fact that it's real sci-fi at last. just make sure to give it a fair chance, i only started to like it when i got to the Groundbreaker and some game mechanics started to become important (2-3h in)

For the absolute noob to these game like me, i got a cool tip saying that these game are to be taken with a "f*** around and find out" mindset and it helped me having a little more fun, even though the main quest is pushed onto us in this one.

Reach group b and die.

(Don't spoil it for yourself, just go through the campaign until group b and virtually destroy your car on each turn after that)

I've only played an hour and a half (mostly offline) but didn't expect this, the game is actually good but not for me.
The game is mostly about joking around, you start with a bat that will talk funny, your single first attack card deal damage ranging from 50 to 200 so extremely random and the gameplay should probaly be taken very lightly.

The presentation is amazing, everything feels like a work of love, the whole 3D main menu has a lot to see, there's a bust where you'll put medals won during the game that (i guess) buff you, there's also an old-school slot machine that give you... stuff.
And seemingly a lot of numbers and different characteristics to account during combats... (that may or may not go to to limbo because of randomness idk)

On the other side the combat user experience felt really wonky to me. To make an attack you have to send the attack card, then click twice on the enemy, then the character will do his thing kind of slowly. Why not send the card straight on the enemy ?
And if you want to cancel you have to find a spot on the board where it says "go back". I often instinct to right click but it bring another menu... And i don't think some tutorials would help.

I don't know if it get more game-y later but initial impression is this is just a long funny story with overly long combat that you'll enjoy if you like to curse your dices and drink something funny alongside.
If you're more about crunching numbers and positioning... let's say it start on the wrong track.
(at least for the beginning of the original game campaign, i haven't tried user created content. The game loop felt too slow and conterintuitive and random for me to go further)

Voted that game for best game of the year.
Because it's truely unique, beautiful and with a wonderful soundtrack. Gameplay seems simple from afar but is actually dense gamepad in hand.

(I don't play much anymore and this is my first Kojima and only 12h in but already my most played game on pc this year)
