@ba: you not having a mic is not really something i have control over. both vague and i have mics and there's text chat in game that is fairly easy to use quickly. i know that at least i am enjoying tf2 on the pc more than reach at the moment (and i think andrew might be as well). i'll probably play more reach when people are back in town and we have bigger groups to play it.
also, if you have a wired controller it might be worth it to see if the mic function works when it's plugged in to your computer. i haven't looked into it and i sort of doubt that it will, but it might be worth a shot.
