It does capture the atmosphere of various british settings and the changeable climate. The developers nailed the vibe of the environments.

Graphics are very good and optimisation seems good.
It's fun to play.
I'd recommend everyone to explore the menus for features that disable potential annoyances.

The physics are simcade, very forgiving. Pleasant driving model though.
Customisation has some limitations but there's enough there to express yourself.

Some obvious technical improvements over Horizon 3.

Is arguably better than 5.

AC has been a revelation from early access to the last official patch. It has great longevity now thanks to the solid underlying technology and gigantic library of mods. Content Manager, Custom Shader Patch, and Pure Weather are must have mods that elevate the overall experience to new heights. Don't hesitate to pick this up if you love cars, car culture, or motorsport.

Early Access Review
It's going to crush everything else when it's done.
All the core expectations for a driving sim are already met, and it has quite a bit of content so far.
This game has such an exciting future!

I'm usually hesitant to buy non-game software on steam. There's often a free and open source alternative. Sometimes the price is just too high for what's offered.

That said, this app had great reviews, costs under a tenner, and I have a use case.

I only got it for it's ability to do frame gen in otherwise unsupported titles.

I use x2 for single player games, locked internally to 60, and displayed on a 3440x1440@120Hz monitor.

I literally have not tried any other feature or multiplier, that's all I wanted for now.

The purchase was absolutely worth it because the app itself has a professional level of polish and the feature I wanted works perfectly.

I have not done data based analysis of latency but I haven't noticed any issues nor did my friends who played games without knowing it was running. (I do activate Low Latency mode at driver level on these titles as long as it doesn't cause any issues) My friends commented on how smooth and quick the image felt. When asked about input latency versus their usual experience on consoles at 30/40/60fps they said it was at least equal or much better in their opinion but never worse.

My own opinion is that it works better than I expected, and it's worth paying a small amount for.

Technically it seems a pretty well made game.

I'm not enjoying it though, for reasons I can't properly articulate.

Perhaps it's just not for me, but it might be for you.

EDIT: I figured out the problem I have with this. Although the production quality is very high across the board, the actual gameplay bit is unfun/boring to me.

Fusion Fix are DXVK are absolutely essential for me to be able to play this game with acceptable performance and features.

Apart from that the game is one of the greatest ever made, a true masterpiece of modern collaborative art.

Get this version and fix it up with a a guide like this (close the gaps):

h t t p s: // gillian-guide. github. io /drag-and-drop-archive /#separate-mods

An official remaster is rumoured but could be years away so get stuck in now if it hasn't been announced yet.

It's fun and it bears more than a passing resemblance to the original, albeit updated somewhat.
Turn off TAA and use supersampling. Game is well optimised but the TAA is especially blurry.
