Do not buy this game
Do not buy any game this person / developer.

Look at the past game this Dev made, unfinished.
Look at the last time this game got update, unfinished.

Now the Dev is making another game. Not only that, the Dev is not a very good a communicating or following any path of development.

Possibly the best deckbuilder to date.

Not the best balance as some combos are a little strong but overall, it's the one you can get the most creative with.

The best Action RPG on the market, even though it's free.
Hopefully
Diablo 3
Diablo 4
will beat it one day.

It's okay but there are some weird decisions and bugs

This is a slower top down shooter then other twin stick shooters out there. The main element that leads to this is the inability to move and shoot. This is fine as the gameplay revolves around finding a good rhythm to shooting, dodging and moving.

Here is why I don't recommend it

1) You cannot change the controller binding. That's crazy since you can change the keyboard binding. Worst of all, it's A (X on PS controller) on the controller to shoot and B (O on PS controller) to dash.
Plus the pickup button is the same as the shoot button and the use item button is on the X ([ ] on PS controller). To be fair, you don't pickup item until the round is over but then again there are 5 other buttons the Devs could have used...
This lack of configuration is extremely annoying since your thumbs is moving so much while your trigger fingers are not doing anything. It makes the game feel extremely clunky.
2) Auto Aim. I don't mind auto aim, I actually prefer it most of the time but this auto aim need some work. Here's the scenario, I'm running away from a mob. A new enemy spawns besides me. The auto aim decides it's best to kill things far away from me versus the enemy that literally have a gun to my head. Normally, this is when I decide that auto aim is not worth it and I will switch to manual aiming. Well you can't do that here. Auto aim or bust. Which is good I guess since manual aiming would be impossible with the current controller button binding.
3) Variety. I only see 4 classes and very basic powerups and items. There is nothing here that I think is noteworthy. Normally after 1 run in these type of games, I'm usually hankering to start another run to test stuff I powered up. Unfortunately most of these powerups are just a stats increase.

Lastly, I had a steam cloud bug where I was playing on the PC and went to the Steam Deck to continue and my save did not transfer over. Then my new save on the deck overwrote my PC one. That was the final straw.

I tried liking this game but it's too buggy and unbalanced

* On the 4th level boss, the game freaks out and i'm trapped in the wall. The run is lost.
* Certain enemies on the second level and beyond just kills the frame rate. Normally I'm running the game @ 144 FPS and then it drops to 1-2 FPS when I hit certain enemies. This almost means a death or near death outcome. There is nothing I can do to mitigate this. This isn't an isolated issue too. Check the forum.
* Longer you take the faster the threat goes up. This makes every enemy stronger, which makes the enemies taking longer to kill, which makes the enemy stronger, etc. This isn't fun, it doesn't make sense for the game to punish you more for doing bad. This needs to be re-balanced.

On the pro side, the controls are snappy and the meta progression seems interesting.

Welcome to: It's like Vampire Survivors! but. Case file #1035

This game is like Vampire survivor but each character have a special ability, a dash and is a buxom.

Pro:
Each character is unique. The special ability really helps define the character
Anime girls! If you like anime girls, you have anime girls!
Simplicity. This genre for better or worse have evolved into extremely games with complicated stats and skills. This game is simple and in a good way.

Con:
Not lots of content so far
Anime girls! If you don't like anime girls, this game have anime girls!
More taxing on your PC. Your potatoe probably doesn't like this game.

Extra note. I would like at the bad reviews before you buy. There are silly. This is a good game.

Welcome to: it's Vampire Survivors! but ... case file #1034

It's Vampire Survivor but there are more RPG elements (skills tree, runes and weapons that you can equip to enhance your) and character diversity.

Pro:
Huge character diversity. Your death knight might not be the same as your friends
Long list of skills and synergies. Each skills have tags (projectile, fire, ice etc) that have synergies with other skills and powers

Con:
The hitboxes are horrible in this game. Sometimes your get hit when you shouldn't. Obstacles in this game also have weird hitboxes that makes them more annoying to dodge that it should be.
Visuals clutter. You will end up making skills look 95% invisible once you progress further in the game. Also, red banners appears all the time taking up 1/5 of your screen announcing boss and objectives.
Ping pong physics. There is a rag doll-ish physics in this game that sends your character flying across the map when you get hit. I don't think it adds anything and it's more of a nuisance.

A rather amazing game

Gameplay Loop:

Adventure Mode:
1) Pick a hero from a group of 4 type with 4 heroes in each (16 total) You get 4 initally before unlockes
2) Select your perks (skill points) for each heroes
3) Select your Madness (difficulty) 0-16
4) Start the game and head to town. Go shopping for new cards and equipment in town.
5) Explore a map
6) At the end of the map, fight a boss
7) Beat a the boss? Act 1: Select from 1 new map from a choice of 3. Act 2: Select another map from the 2 that was not taken before. Act 3: no map selection you go directly to the last Act.
8) Beat the final Boss or lose the game and get rank for your characters and unlock more perks

Obelisk Mode (Full Randomized Mode):
1) Pick a hero from a group of 4 type with 4 heroes in each (16 total) You get 4 initally before unlockes
2) Select your Madness (difficulty) 0-16
3) Draft style card selection
4) Select your perks from a randomized list
5) Try to get to the end of the map aka Slay the Spire.
6) At the end of the map, fight a boss
7) Beat the boss? Proceed to the next map.

There's also a weekly challenge where random modifiers gets added but I did not play that mode (160+ hours and I barely scratch the surface of 1 mode).

Why I would recommend the game
• The choices and combination of characters is truly crazy and wonderful. On the higher madness (14-16) there will be some combinations that would not work. However half the fun is trying to make them work.
• The perk system is also quite fun and allows more crazy combinations. For instance, if you have a cold and fire mage together there isn't really a synergy. However, there's a perk that transform all the fire burn damage to cold damage...
• The map system in the Adventure mode is also another gem. The map itself doesn't change but certain node gets events or quests randomly so the path is never the same. This allows a RPG expereince without over complicating anything. Which brings me to:
• Each run take 2-3+ hours long. But there really isn't any downtime. No sorting of loot, no extra tedious task that's not part of the core card game gameplay. The game is long is because every battle is a fight and more importantly; each battle is interesting.
• All the above would not be nearly as good if it wasn't for the perfection that is UI and interface.
You mange 4 decks in this game! But not problem, you can save (and name!) your beginning layouts. You have to twiddle with perks for 4 characters every time you start. Again, no problem! There are perk save slots too with the ability to name them.
Need some battle information? Chances are it's there where you think it should be.
Want to upgrade a card? Guess what all the keywords and upgrade paths are available to you on command.
This is only the start, never in my 150+ hours was I annoyed about the interface. I don't think this every happened before. I know I sound crazy but if you ever want to spend a long time with a game, chances are the interface and UI are one of the top things that adds to your enjoyment of a game.
• None of the cards have anything special about them but the combo of cards, classes of characters, equipment and enemies make this game card based combat highly unique.

Somethings to consider if you’re on the fence
• Don't. Unless...

Full achievement takes ~100 hours depending if you're just playing for fun or just for the achievement. You can probably get 100% faster (maybe 80 hours ish) but it would be beyond boring and you'll have to follow a guide for almost everything. Half the fun of the game is discovering the quest lines and hidden items.

Here's the Unless. There's a multiplayer co-op achievement. I don't know why the devs decide to put it in but it's there. It's easy to do (win or lose a multiplayer game), takes only 10 minutes at the most if you manage to find someone. Currently it isn't tough to but if you're reading from this future (do we have Skunk Pox yet?) and 100% is important to you I would check Steamspy before buying.

Devs if you're reading this, I would get rid of the multiplayer achievement.

I give this game 24/25 dark stacks. Buy this game and enjoy the cardy goodness.
