They say that nothing beats the original, but that couldn't be more wrong in this situation. Skylanders: Swap Force is the third installment in the Skylanders franchise. The main gimmick of this game is the unique ability to mix and match the upper and lower halves of the new additions to the skylanders roster. This absolutely phenomenal idea gives the game almost infinite replayability, as all the combinations you can make with the skylanders open up new and interesting ways to go about the levels. If not for the fact that you have to buy most of the skylanders separately, I would say the swap mechanic is perfect. This is ,unfortunately, a glaring downside. There are areas in the game where you need a certain element to progress, and not owning all of the characters might force you to use one that you might not enjoy playing as. If the swapping mechanic interests you, and you are willing to spend a pretty penny, I 100% recommend trying this game out.
