I joined for the memes, and now I'm a super earth patriot.

Listen, I'm sure it's a great game in the end, but the controls have stopped many any bloody sense.

Decide to join a match, get headshot, get cursed at by team for being a noob.
Line up lucky shot, get a triple, get told to kill myself by enemy team.
Preacher-bot-9001 joins and I get a nice sermon on why I'm going to hell.

Yeah, it's a free to play multiplayer game, not sure what else I expected.

Remember - the bad guy isn't always the person you think it is. Sometimes they end up in space.

In what other game can you recreate one of your own personal sh*tboxes and repeatedly slam it into a wall after that stupid bolt broke.

This game, man... I didn't get to play it in its prime, I had to wait for it to pop up in a Humble Bundle, but let me tell you - it's worth whatever price you can pay for it.

The characters feel real, there's an intense sense of camaraderie from the beginning, although some of it's a bit forced. It's a video game with Jack Black, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy, and so many other great rock and roll/metal artists for voice actors, and it gets raunchy, and runs the risk of being outright disturbing, but it's all in good fun and they show it.

The story is there, it gets a little haphazard in the middle, but finishes out strong, and that's important.

Get it.

Got to play this for a short period of time this weekend, and lemme tell you, if the developers were actually worth a darn, this game would be perfect. On the Windows side, the game is fine, runs on whatever hardware you want, really, and has no problems, but on the Mac it's a totally different story.

The Mac version requirements don't match a single consumer grade Mac in existence, due to the arbitrary VRAM and CPU speed requirements. What that tells me is they were lazy and the game is CPU bound, while also only writing graphics to specific parts of screen memory... In the 21st century. Both of these coding limitations were common in the 80s, and isn't common enough to be a problem for any other Mac programs. Why on earth did they write it this way?

On a 2018 MacBook Air, Intel Core i5-8210Y, 16GBS of RAM, Intel Iris Pro 617 graphics, the game refused to load in my fresh install of 10.15.5 Catalina, but bootcamped with a fresh copy of Windows? Loaded just fine, played it at low settings 1920x1080 on an external monitor no problems whatsoever. Why gimp the Mac version? This is the kind of game that diehard Apple users will pay full price for on the App Store years after release, and they won't tap into that market? Well after everyone's pirated the game, gotten it for free on Epic Games, or got the game in a Humble Bundle, they could still make money off the Apple App Store if they would just make the game work on reasonable hardware.

Aside from that, the game was fine, and it's what I remember from the other Tropico games and.. Again, it's fine.
