Alright, I'm a new player to CS. Picked up Global Offensive in 2015 - 2016 which was the first time i'd touch any CS game. And then the current 700+ hours followed so I'll share my two cents:

CS2 is basically Global Offensive but modernized. Gameplay feels familiar enough, core mechanics are unchanged (except for the trade ups ofcourse but...yikes) and overall it's just a new way to keep our beloved GO spirit alive.

That being said, after ten years they still haven't fixed the cheater problem. At all. That is one of the few nitpicks I have against this game. Other than that, sure I'd say go ahead and play it for a few hours & see if you like it. Prime status helps with getting less cheaters but to be honest, roughly 60% of the playerbase is cheating anyways which just straight up sucks.

TL;DR CS:GO went super saiyan 2 but still has a cheater problem. Game good, Anticheat horrible. 7/10

Played the last Open Beta for about 5 hours and have already clocked 3.6 in Early Access.

The game is great. Feels good to play, current maps are fun and the vehicles remain a hell of a lot of dumb fun.
Still minor tweakage when it comes to weapon handling and smaller QoL things but all round banger of a game lads

25/11 edit: I nominated Forefront for VR Game of the Year 2025 AND SO SHOULD YOU

Only an hour in and I can tell this game has massive potential. It really sets a high standard.
We've got a 3D minimap during spawn selection with actual vehicles displayed on their current position on the map, big maps, proximity chat and so on..

Takes all the right elements from it's predecessors, blends them carefully, and out comes Forefront!
Of course there is still ways to go..(writing this during the open beta) but from what I can see this is one to keep an eye on. Will definitely be tracking development going forward. 6.8/10, would recommend!

Very fun, challenging, and it has alot of replay value.
Also the developers never really stop giving the community hours of content every leauge, which keeps this game fun and interesting.

However, the game is fairly difficult at the start, having lots and lots of character customization and skill customization.
(Just look at the skill tree, good lord)
But that is easily solved by following one of the many build guides, some of which will properly describe how the game works in general.

Very good game!
