This is a short review of the first Witcher series which came out on 2007. I should note:
- This is my first game of the series, I still haven't played the other two.
- I played this on 2019.

-First of all, graphics, obviously they cannot compare with today's standards, so people used to nowadays AAA games will have a hard time getting used to. However, games from this time period, such as Mass Effect and Fallout 3, still hold their own. Also, there are graphical issues when you talk with NPC's, the camera forgets where to point :) . Another thing is that they reused models multiple times, you will encounter different people with the same face quite a lot. This shows that the studio had to sacrifice this part of the game to focus on areas, which the game actually shines.

-Gameplay and combat is not complicated, and becomes really easy once you get the hang of it. You can actually complete the whole game without ever clicking on your keyboard :). There are three combat modes which you need to use depending on the enemies and their weaknesses. Travelling through the map can become a chore when you do sidequests, as there is no fast travel in this game (actually there are 2-3 waypoints which you can fast travel, however you will use them rarely).

-Story is the strongest area of this game, even though it might not seem at first. Be warned, the first two chapters will be a slog, this is why people complain mostly about, and rightly so. But, if you can get through the first two chapters, the game/story picks up momentum and becomes really engaging and enjoyable. If you played other RPG, this is the kind of game where you can change the course of the story depending on your choices. There are many dialogue options with quite a lot of NPC's, and all of them are voiced. Frankly, the voice acting was really good in my opinion (which compensates for not so good looking models).

-Music is awesome!

Since I have yet to play the other two, I cannot compare them yet. But, if you are just starting the series, and you can bear the 2000's graphics, it's definitely worth playing.

Got this game through Humble Bundle. Sometimes when you really need to chill and play something different, this is one of the games that really relaxes you.

Controlls are simple (keyboard), the concept is really easy too grasp too, and a lot of puzzles (some of them are a bit challenging).

Recommended if you get it on sale; It's rather short (3-6 hours)

A really short game, which you can finish in 20-30 minutes. But, it's free, and the music is really calming. I hope the developers release similar games in the future!
