i got semi-far in this game?? (maybe? maybe not) but i think i have to hang it up. after a really slow start getting the points needed to make the modifications to advance the game, i finally got the hang of it and was enjoying myself. unfortunately, the sheer amount of grinding you have to do is just completely untenable for me. carrying a single log from the graveyard to the timber yard, 60 times? whew. no thanks. a veritable mountain of other stuff i can be doing with the limited in-game time, and i'm carrying one slab of stone down a mountain, over and over forever. truly sisyphean. the discussion boards are plagued with complaints that make the game "grindy" like this, and the responses are all mostly "that's just how it is." it seems obvious that everyone involved with the project has moved on--i just wish i had paid more attention to those warnings instead of thinking it wouldn't happen to me, as well.

i literally do not remember how much this game costs but it is 100% worth the price of admission to play the steam-user created level called "divorce" in which you are the typical serial killer guy in a perfectly crafted house with only one other person and he is telling you that no he hasn't gotten the divorce papers yet and what is your new boyfriend like and no he's not jealous he's just been drinking lately and he wants to move on just as bad as you do but he actually wishes he was dead

100/10 would get divorced again

one hit to kill you and no aiming system whatsoever

the graphics are tiny and cute

so basically you're just aiming off in a general direction hoping you hit something and you probably didn't, but don't worry, whatever you are aiming for is coming right for you to kill you instantly

everyone keeps referencing this game as similar to earthbound, which i totally get graphically (and through a few textual nods which were fun to catch) but for me this game is such an awesomely fun throwback to maniac mansion, one of my favorite games ever.

very fun to explore eloquently fleshed out characters that you feel both empathy and suspicion towards basically the entire time and a storyline with so many twists and turns i basically devoured the game until i finished it (once; going back for another round shortly).

honestly cannot wait for a new development from peltast.
