MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! sony went back on their decision to force PSN links, and as such i can safely recommend this gem of a game once more. developers should not pay for the sins of the publisher they got stuck with, after all

it's flawed, but it's great - if you're looking for a breath of fresh air in the "dbd-like" scene, you've found just the game for you. bring your friends, this is a slaughter for the whole family. i mean it, teamwork has become crucial for killers, more so than survivors. as for graphics, atmosphere, sticking to source material, and polish - it's top notch. too early to tell how well this will be supported, but the devs acknowledge the issues. get it while it's hot!

i'll spare you the three paragraphs of compliment and a "full review" link down below - yes, it's that good.

like any other bhvr game, or asymmetric game in general, it becomes progressively less fun the more tryhard the community gets. thankfully those are few and far between (for now), and player-built outposts often pleasantly surprise. the replay system, too, gives me that evil mastermind tingle that i haven't quite felt in any other game. though, i do get surprised there, as well - particularly with how some players die in ways i hardly intend...

still, while very unique in concept and superb in execution, it's a bit short on features. either get it while it's hot and at its population peak (i.e. right now), or wait until some updates bulk it up

you've seen it on youtube, you've read it on steam forums, you've laughed at it on reddit, and now you get it in an awfully-written "sorry, not sorry" community letter.
the core gameplay is beautiful, but everything else like progression, connectivity, community aspects and amount of content, are at best half-baked and buggy, and at worst missing core features completely.
if they pull a no man's sky and dig this game out of the pit they themselves threw it in, i'll gladly change my review. until then, i highly recommend you to hold off on purchasing it yourself. come back in half a year, maybe more

Probably the best piece of (non-vr, since i'm poor) Half-Life content we've gotten since Episode 2. It's not Half-Life 3, but it's an amazing labour of love with an incredible amount of care and detail put into it. The gunplay is incredible, the classic physics and platforming puzzles are neat, the writing is fantastic and very respectful of source material. Though, for the latter it does lean heavily into references. Both into in-universe ones, as well as some pop culture, the latter might be a miss with some players. Otherwise, if you loved HL2, this will bring you right back. Can't believe this is totally free. Looking at you, HDTF.
also, the kick button and a completely optional carriable companion you can take to the very end just elevate this to its own level
