I want to make one thing extremely clear: this is one of the greatest games ever made. It should be a sensation. We should be living in a world with three sequels already. The twin stick drifting mechanic is fantastic and every single car handles wildly different. If you enjoy leaderboard climbing and time trials, this is game is a goldmine. The negative reviews complaining about feel and handling are simply people bouncing off the game’s high difficulty curve. But if you want to commit to learning a new control scheme, to memorising tracks snd mastering the feel of each individual car then you will be rewarded with a new favourite.

The story is a bit weak and the music is a little low energy (the DLC corrects in the other direcfion going fine here’s the eurobeat and hey i’m not complaining), but the gameplay is the real star of the show. The lack of collision is a disappoint,ent as dynamically drifting while avoiding opponents would add a whole new level of challenge, but the game is designed around this with tight roads that make overtaking impossible. It’s not that big a deal, instead a feature that would presumably be explored in the utopia where this game sold ten million copies and got a sequel.

I simply can’t recommend this game enough, I played it a ton on ps5 and then picked it up again to play more on PC and Deck. I wish there was a club feature to leaderboard chase with my discord server without worry in about how dunked on we’re all getting by the true drift kings. Don’t let the negative reviews steer you away. Its base price is already a steal and its sale price is criminal. Buy this game. Tell your friends. Let’s drift together.
