Bladed Fury is an excellent 2D action game with great painterly visuals that lean on traditional Chinese styles. The action is quick and intuitive, with multiple ways to approach each encounter, and learning how to fight more efficiently has been very enjoyable. While a bit short casually at about 4 hours, the game doesn't overstay its welcome and is well worth the asking price. The story is rather simple but also a bit confusing at times considering I don't have much knowledge of Chinese history and mythology. There is also a bit too much time spent simply directing the player with slow camera pans, but these are just short intermissions as a whole.

Personally hoping that a NG+ is added eventually but the game is worthwhile regardless.

I like this game a lot.

It has some of the best spritework I've ever seen, a gorgeous soundtrack, and gameplay that is tight and responsive. All aspects of the gameplay experience mesh together wonderfully and nothing really feels like it is missing. It is no exaggeration to say that this is now one of my favorite games of all time and it is a title I will keep returning to.
