Game was pretty chill when it came out but now this is way too heavily influenced by China. All the loot boxes and the pop-star events make it feel like an in-game gatcha advertising session.

It's incredible, the game was pretty awesome on release and has just gotten steadily buggier and glitchier with every update. The drip fed content is nice but can we get that stability back? Not worth getting in current state.

One of the most corn shuckin' skill walls I've ever picked at in my life. After not being able to move troops or produce troops I'm now neck deep into doin' big thangs. Release Transylvania and have your king, Vlad, Draculesti, siege down Constantinople and impale the Sultan! Invent a new country following the Norse pantheon and go on your very own pagan crusade over the holy lands! Throw your newborn heir out the window! Keep your buff newborn heiress and write new laws to allow her the right to rule, against the overall will of the neighboring germanic countries! Discover the New World! Colonize the New World! Genocide the New World! Plenty of historic, and alternative paths to follow, presenting you with options for very interesting timelines!

After your first 350 hours of gameplay, you will likely begin to start getting a grip on the game and at that point, you will surely be addicted to the arbitrary numbers causing your other arbitrary numbers to rise. The dopamine rush of the Microsoft Excel mathematics automation is enough to drive a man to duck out of work! Try Europa Universalis 4 now!

Now yes, I do enjoy this game, and yes the game pretty much does what it's advertised to do. It's a spooky shooter where the greatest threat to your survival is other players. Now, for the critique.

The main issue I think this game has is the server strength. Often times it's not even me, but my team mates that disconnect or my friends in voice chat that are getting the high ping errors. Besides that, this is a game Average Joe should only be paying $15 for. Yeah it's good but it's not a 40 dollar game. Wait until it's on sale.

Rockstar damn well did it again with their wild west storytelling. If you think this isn't worth playing because you already know what's more or less going to happen in the end, boy are you missing out. Getting to be part of a complex gang of members and intentionally choosing who you want to spend more time or less time with will really do something to you as the story goes on. I've yet to play through the story a second time so I can't confirm this, but it FEELS like the things I did really changed the course of events, and that if I had done something different it could have ended differently.
The actual gameplay also leaves little to complain about, You can set yourself in the classic 3rd person view and enjoy tricking out Arthur's set-up or jump into 1st person where you can really appreciate the detail put into all of the weapons from the barrel engravings to your taste in iron sights. Riding around the whole map on your perfect horse and stopping hold-ups is just another great pleasure to be had here. The only real critiques I have are with the weapons. There should be an option to keep rifles on your person at all times, and not have to select them all over again through the slurry of other guns you own, which is my other complaint. Why isn't there a gun chest you can store your unwanted weapons in, or even an option to pawn off your old guns you don't want anymore. Who wants a Carbine repeater when you've ripped a brown and brass Litchfield repeater off those scummy O'Driscolls?
Red Dead Online is also wonderful, a bare open slate for you to snag bounties, find treasures, bully other players, and all manner of other things you can think of. Truly a must have for any fans of the old West and the days of open carry.
