Early Access Review
Fun game. Would recommend.

As much complaint as there is about items being unbalanced or worthless, considering the dev is very active, I doubt this will be as much of an issue in future, and indeed some of the issues posted by other reviewers have already been resolved (adding locking-in items and increasingly punishing re-rolls was a great decision). Much better difficulty curve than most other ladder/map roguelites to the extent where I almost feel like it's the closest to Slay The Spire's exceptionally well-designed difficulty curve.

Most of the challenges and achievements are fun, and while they have varying degrees of difficulty (like why is the challenge `Hardcore` the easiest lol), most do get you thinking a bit rather than just autopiloting.

I have no feedback on Surge because I'm a boomer and don't want to understand the mechanic so I just turn it off.

Endless mode feels really boring. It's hard to make a fun endless mode unless you have very fast exponential power-scaling (Balatro), so I can't say I expected much, but it definitely feels underwhelming.

Overall, a great port of autobattlers to the roguelite genre.

Don't Starve is one of the best games I have played, a great and fun game in both single and multi-player (DST). It does eventually get boring, but that is after one gets to day 200 (I play offline, so the hours don't record), but getting to that stage is immensely difficult, and the games cost is far less than the entertainment you will get playing it.

Overall, buy it and play it, as you will likely enjoy it.
