The best rogue-lite deckbuilder RPG. No better alternative exists aside from Monster Train, which is a different take on the genre. But if you want a simple, condensed deckbuilder with nice writing, nearly infinite deck customization, and punchy animations, look no further!

Everything about this game draws me in. Aside from the bugs and glitches which every game has, this is a masterpiece.

Early Review of Mana Spark
Currently in love with this game. Very early review mind you. (TL;DR, Buy it. It'll only get better from now on, and it is beautiful and fun at this stage.)

This game is a roguelike heavily inspired by Bınding of Isaac series and Dark Souls. You go down floors, encounter bosses and shops, upgrade your town and your skill of maneuvering as a person. You'll die, a lot, The AI will go against their way to cooperate and kill you. And you'll perish because of the mistakes that only yourself did. So, let's get to reviewing this fun game, shall we?

There's plenty to explore, bountiful enemy types, many power-ups with or without downsides. The power-ups you get drastically changes how you play such as high damage-short range, low damage but a fast attack speed, so on and so forth. Health is not an issue if you dodge well, and it will take a couple of tries before figuring out all the interactables, I've encountered 2 of them so far.

Seems like it has varying characters, I've unlocked one, did not get to try it because I'm writing a review as of right now. How the characters differ from one another I'll see, and update this review as time goes by. And onto the graphics and sound.

The graphics are pixel-based, and the view is from the top down. It looks beautiful, though. The lighting effects, the flames, and characters sprites are characteristic enough to remember them pixel by pixel. How the arrows change over time with the upgrades are satisfying. The spacebar items are looking good too, item sprites are an issue though. They look somewhat out of place and very colorful in this somewhat pale/pastel tone that this game has, but this is a minor gripe.

The sound design and the soundtrack is amazing. There is not much of a repetitive music going on, every floor has a distinct sound difference with the enemies and the background music. The music is more like anambient soundtrack, which helps your hand-eye coordination and focus. And now, let's get to the gameplay mechanics, bosses and the overall score.

The gameplay is nothing short but spectacular. You really feel the arrow going through a skeleton or the flesh of the orc warriors. When it clangs out of the shield from the enemies, it makes you feel like ™ the shield stops it. I've got somewhat of a concern with the boss variety, though. From what I gathered every floor has a set boss, and they are just memorization based. It's definitely not the strongest aspect of the game, but comparing it with the gameplay it falls short of the randomness and the AI that enemies have.
Overall, I'll rate this an 8,5/10 mainly because of some of the item sprite design issues and lackluster bosses. I'll keep updating the review the more I play.

Thanks for making such an awesome game, Behemutt!
