very very good! An energetic, fast-paced bullet of a game, filled to the brim with bosses to defeat, projectiles to dodge or parry and overall moment-to-moment variety that make shootin-n-jump from each of the 30 bosses a joyous romp! Granted, me being a basic-ah-♥♥♥♥♥ I only went through the game in Basic Mode and still provided me with enough heft and good difficulties to overcome.

Twin Stick Shooter X Zelda progression, basically.
There is a certain level of "mindless fun" that this pertains - which was pretty swag for a Steam Deck + Bed combo honestly 😭 Surprisingly fun! Very much a gamey/do-ey experience, 100% invested with every system reinforcing the mechanics. Markers clearly indicating the next point to go to, a constant stream of leveling and upgrades + every side-stuff gets you a reward to some kind of "do-ey expenditure", if that doesn't spell retention systems then idk what is. Makes sense, given I feel like just having the loop of twin-stick combat followed by light exploration becoming a bit too stale without having any sort of constant progression.
Doeymaxxin, at all cost.

When I accidentally killed one of the islands few dwellers and watched in horror as their body ragdoll'd lifelessly onto the floor, I felt utter stomach-churnin' remorse - I guess that aptly describes how well the game works for me.
Reject "immersive" or "life-like", embrace game-y structures, landscape contradictions, game's that are aware of their nature, "weird"-isms and what not! Lets me gawk at structures and and spaces that can only derive from its medium.
The French do know how to make the vibez 🚬✌️😌

Not the game revealing my perfect egg recipe 🙄 (1 egg, 2 cigarettes and 45 exploding bullets). One of those games that looks fugly from the screenshotssaturdays, but is gorgeously realized once played. Funny and real-as-♥♥♥♥™ in it's word-building and dialogue, with every conversation having a unique camera setup & immaculate vibes enveloping the dystopian rooftops, prisons and street-corners of the milieu. What ends up making Arctic Eggs earn it's swagger stride is through its frustrating, yet engaging pan-flipping gameplay. Expected the worse physics-based game gaming has to offer, but instead got treated by an onslaught of new mechanics and dynamics between every edible(?) imaginable plopping onto the sizzling pan as you carefully try to flip it with demure and mindfulness or with tears and prayers. Getting a challenge first try made me feel like I was getting a Michelin star.
Wonderful

Damn Strange Scaffold actually do got that ♥♥♥♥ on. Love the aggressive and abrasive push-forward superhuman energy it got going. Popping headers, parkourin' on trees and ropes all while the mercs keep dwindling in numbers - it's all extremely satisfying. Particular surprised with how much I enjoyed the dialogue (it will not be for everyone) and it's execution - gotta respect a game when it can keep and hold a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pace!
For tha leaderboardz lunatics.

Side-note: Xalavier Nelson Jr. really loves his voice, doesn't he? He's the lead here, even sings a pivotal song on the soundtrack and I am pretty sure he sings at the credits of Clickolding (also I know he is in El Paso but havent played that one). Bro thinks he's Lin Manuel Miranda.

My first rodeo into the Survival Horror Corner funnily enuff, and I think I picked a fantastic entry point :D
Family-park-sized celebration of the PSX-era through gameplay and clothing (the vis direction reminds me very much of the look of FF7-overworld), Crow Country feels both grand and bite-sized - A festive horror-park, where every corner lies the next spooks or the most charming set-design you will find this year. I am very fond of the park itself - small in size, yet so full of character and vibes! Every room feels packed with distinct ideas and identity, making orientation and re-trekking effectily x10 more enjoyable. The power of new-gen hardware is not emulating raytracing, it is emulating PSX-era pre-rendered environments but make it fugging realtime 😤😤!!!! And as the game progresses, watching the park get enveloped by fog, rain and darkness is so cool! Maintaining the spooks-vibe without entering into the bleak-zone is a fine art that Crow Country seems to be an Olympic medalist in!
Consider me an obedient servant of SFB Games the way their games be banging!

An ode to the old forum days, the Club Penguins, the social games of yonder days. You can spot enuff writing of other folks here reflecting that spark, the moments of human connections and just folks being silly in a hosted server. It's all there and it's gold.

Frankly I always enjoyed these games, more from the outskirts, never as an active yapper, but more as an idle fiddler interacting with the rather thin, repetitious game mechanics. But catching the game chat scroll through with earnest conversations, and plenty of jest, while I listen to a podcast and fish... issa good vibe honestly.

Beautifully evocative & thickly coated with a layer of vibes, Miniatures is a vignette-collection of 4 succinctly, hand-drawn tales of family/-iare trauma & day-dreams told from a child-like perspective. While all contained in a wodden box, each story is distinct and different enuff in presenting it's play-structure, storytelling-bounds and even visuals that every experience maintains the sum of it's uniquely entrancing qualities.
Ostensibly an interactive art exhibition, a huge recc for the peeps who like to click on tha pwetty pictures.

Very much a bri'ish cartoon episode of a game, but that is what I want sooo thank you very much. Oodles of tiny quirks and references to it's island (See it, smell it, sorted) bring a local & regional charm to it - a glimpse of an absurdist depiction of living in some northern town, somewhere in the UK. Adoring the fat mono outlines & bold colors as your circle through Barnsworth as this little/tiny/quite suprisingly average-sized fella through scene to scene as call-backs occur, gags continue on or scenes turn to surreal crazyness. It is with these repeated visits that I kind of adore the game - the jokey writing on the wall, revisiting the oddball cast interacting with one another and seeing the devs comitting to every bit they start - gotta respect the jokster for using the rule of threes whenever they can. The DHMIS-esque crescendo of a song a perfect goodbye-wave to the grinning flavor of a game that is Thank Goodness You're Here.

A raw celebration of a by-gone era: Of 3d crude UI, of that online 1v1 FPS scramble , of custom maps with various degrees of quality but full of ideas and personality, of janky movement mastery. Kerfuffles can last a split second, or feel like a horrifying eternity as you cannot find the enemy, as you try to echo-locate their footsteps and predict their next move. And as soon as you can blink, you're onto the next map. Euphoric scrambles, manifest. The Babbdi's dev have a way to capture that specific vibe that I am glad that they continue with it, solidifying it as a fingerprint quality of theirs.

With a generous entry-fee of FREE€, what else is there to say than: Hop on Arena_13 and let's scramble!!!
